Mark Robbins, in his second spell as Coventry manager, has now been there since 2017. He was appointed in March 2017, and in his second season in charge they finished sixth in League Two, and won the playoffs. Their first year back in League One they finish 8th, and in their second season they won the division, with just 3 defeats all season. They now sit 4th in the Championship, and I know it is only 4 games into the season, but they seem a side consistently heading upward. They did lose to Northampton Town in the League Cup first round. As for us, we comfortably won in the League Cup, we are unbeaten in the league so far, however we sit in 5th, one place and one point behind Coventry. Viktor Gyökeres, Chris Willock and Lyndon Dykes are three of eighteen players to have scored twice in the league already, and I'll be hoping Willock and Dykes can continue this form. There are rumours that another striker, Andre Gray, is being pursued by the club, but his £70,000 a week wages are proving a problem. Never quite sure if reports of another striker being pursued will dent the confidence of players already playing, or spur them on to play well, and prove their value by scoring a shed load. Let's hope it is the latter. Enjoy those who'll make it, and I'll add team news/manager comments when it goes on the official but as always... ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
It’s about time Coventry came down to earth with a good thumping from our lot. Just hope we can put a few able bodies out on the paddock.
WLS saying Johansen, Ball, Dykes and Albert have all been sick, plus Jordi has had an ankle injury, and he may have to wait until tomorrow before finalising his team.
Don’t worry, I’m not going tomorrow, didn’t fancy the crowded train trip with Cov fans there and back plus other commitments. My absence is almost a guarantee of victory.
Today will be a good test for Coventry, to play a well organised team. For us we need to show what we can do against a newly promoted team and, if we’re honest, a disappointing result against Barnsley. Let’s not give away any early/any at all goals and press like we can to take command of the game. Pressure on. Nothing but the win. C’mon you Rrrrrrrrrrrssssssss!!!!!!
We need to start quicker than we have been of late & get in front rather than concede first which we have 3 times out of 4
Definitely this. Seem slow out the blocks a little too often, no matter the opponent. Especially at home. Would also like to see us play a consistent standard for a considerable length of time, rather in fits and starts as it seems. Or is that just me?
