After back-to-back defeats in the league against Hull City and Tottenham Hotspur, coupled with Wednesdayâs disappointing loss to Burton Albion in the Capital One Cup, Harry Redknapp will be expecting a big response from his charges when Gus Poyetâs charges come to town. Redknapp has, however, been rocked by the news that Alejandro Faurlin is set for a prolonged period on the sidelines with an ACL injury sustained in our midweek Cup setback at the Pirelli Stadium. His injury is likely to mean Leroy Fer could be in line to make his home debut alongside skipper Joey Barton in the heart of the Râs midfield, whilst fellow new recruit Mauricio Isla could also make his Loftus Road bow. The Râs, of course, beat Sunderland 3-1 when the two sides last met, with goals from Loic Remy, Andros Townsend and Jermaine Jenas seeing off the Black Cats in W12 in March last year. But the Mackems are a much-changed outfit since then, with Poyetâs arrival on Wearside last October breathing fresh life into the club. A horrendous start under Paolo Di Canio and poor summer recruitment left Poyet with a mountain to climb to retain Sunderland's Premier League status. They looked to have fallen off the edge several times, but a magnificent end to a poor campaign â sparked into life with a 2-2 draw at Manchester City followed by a 2-1 win at Chelsea â somehow saw them retain their top-flight status. The Black Cats went on to win their next three games, against Cardiff City (4-0), Manchester United (0-1) and West Bromwich Albion (2-0) to avoid relegation with a game to spare. Few Sunderland fans will ever forget their remarkable run to the Capital One Cup Final - which ended, albeit in proud fashion - with a 3-1 reverse to Manchester City, despite Fabio Borini opening the scoring for the Wearsiders. Two draws from their opening two league fixtures against West Bromwich Albion and Manchester United have shown promise and Poyet will be confident of leading his side to a mid-table finish this term. They have improved their squad and Gus Poyet has done a good job there. "It would be nice tomorrow to get some goals and get off the mark and win some games." Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher: "We need to take the momentum weâve gained from the first two games and look to get another positive result at QPR. âWe go there on the back of a bad result for them but we need to focus on our own game, and go there and do what we need to do and continue this positive start to the season.â please log in to view this image BET VICTOR QPR win: 7/5 Draw: 9/4 Sunderland win: 2/1 LAST MEETING SUNDERLAND QPR 3, Sunderland 1 â Premier League â Saturday 9th March 2013 Scorers: QPR â Remy, Townsend, Jenas; Sunderland â Fletcher HEAD TO HEAD - SUNDERLAND QPR wins: 11 Draws: 7 Sunderland wins: 13 MATCH OFFICIALS Referee: R Madley Assistant Referees: S Child & M Wilkes Fourth Official: A Taylor Famous Fans please log in to view this image - - please log in to view this image Wendy James (QPR) - Heather Mills (Sunderland) PREMIER LEAGUE FIXTURES (15.00pm kick-off unless stated) Saturday 30th August 2014 Burnley v Manchester United (12.45pm) Manchester City v Stoke City Newcastle United v Crystal Palace QPR v Sunderland Swansea City v West Bromwich Albion West Ham United v Southampton Everton v Chelsea (17.30pm) Sunday 31st August 2014 Aston Villa v Hull City (13.30pm) Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool (13.30pm) Leicester City v Arsenal (16.00pm) please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Read more at http://www.qpr.co.uk/fixtures-results/match-preview/index.aspx#uXIKZe4lbeqIEzMq.99
Thanks Nines! Yun is out injured until after the International break I think. If Traore has gone maybe Hoillet can play there. Would have been a lot better with a bit of practice there first though.
I just hope that today we can emulate the maximum effort and determination that Burnley are currently displaying against Man Utd with everyone working hard together as a team. At the back of my mind I do worry that this season might develop into history repeating itself round 3. I will feel a whole lot better though if we can somehow peg 3 points on the board today.
Many thanks Mr 9's, great effort as per and your time in doing the match threads is appreciated Sir. I just hope QPR have found the gel today and have put twenty buckets of the stuff on. U RRRRRRRRRRssss!!!!!!!!!!

4-3-3? I suppose Isla will play like a wing-back so that it is an out-of-shape 3-5-2. Adel on the bench, but no work permit for Vargas. Why does this take so long?
3 5 2 with Isla and Hoilett the wing backs? No Remy or Simpson seems to confirm they are off. Traore and Adel on the Bench could be the same. Mutch and Fer in midfield with Barton doesn't seem to offer much either setting up chances or covering the wing backs or CB's. Would have preferred Adel in a No 10 role and Henry as a DCM. Fer and Mutch didn't seem fit to me against Spurs.
Looks good to me, should be solid enough defensively, but pacey going forward. Quite hopefully seeing that line up.
