Premier League

Stoke City Form Guide: Stoke City FC have dropped to 16th place and remain on 34 points (-13 GD) - coming off a HOME defeat to the league leaders, we now have only 1 win in our last 14 premier league games and have only managed 5 points from a possible 42 points in 2013 . Can we stop the rot? QPR will probably view this game as both winnable and their last opportunity to try and starve off relegation. Our poor away form has now reached a very embarrassing 1 win in 25 games and to make matters worse we have only won 1 of our last 14! The stats suggest a tight affair but stranger things have happened and I would neither be surprised if we grabbed a win or QPR score a hatful. With Wigan losing to Man City they can now only go level on points so the pressure build up on the Potters has been steadied – if only for a game. LAST 10 Premier League Games: 1 Wins; 2 Draws; 7 Losses: Points (5 from 30) LAST 36 Premier League Games: 7 Wins; 15 Draws; 14 Losses: Points (36 from 108) QPR Form Guide: QPR currently sitting in 19th place on 24 points (-25GD) - coming off an away loss against Everton. They have arguably been unfortunate with recent results but look like a team swimming against the tide of relegation. Surprisingly they have a better recent record than Stoke and have scored 10 goals in their last 6 games, something Stoke will have to be aware of. They have the worst home form in the league and they host one of the worst away teams. LAST 10 Premier League Games: 2 Wins; 3 Draws; 5 Loss: Points (9 from 30) LAST 36 Premier League Games: 6 Wins; 11 Draws; 19 Losses: Points (29 from 108) LINKS: (To Follow from Sandor)
An interesting point of view from a QPR thread: This whole last thread of optimism hinges on this Saturday’s game with a Stoke side, who are frankly in free-fall right now. Only one win in 2013, and on a run of six defeats that was only separated by a goalless draw with West Brom – no wonder Michael Owen is quitting. The fans are turning on Tony Pulis and they look like team who’ve forgotten how to win football games. Loftus Road will be nervy, much like the Wigan game but you feel an early goal would see the Potters heads drop and give Rangers win one on this unlikely last chance. I ahve posted the whole piece in the Pulis out thread if your interested?
Smithers, I have gone for a 'home' win. That is NOT me being negative, never mind not knowing where the next point is coming from, it's where the next goal is coming from. By the way, wasn't that Remy fellow linked with us a couple of years ago, some kind of kerfuffle, using to boost the transfer fee elsewhere??
Not sure on the Remy thing but he is a class act as are many of the other players they have. QPR have goals in them and if they cant beat us at home they dont deserve a shot at staying up. Whilst I view this as a game we could and should win I just fancy QPR to hammer us, I know thats negative but its just my gut feel. Whilst all the points are very valuable I see the Norwich and Sunderland games as more important.
Expect to get beat but hoping for at least a draw. Good points there Smithers, can't afford to lose either of those matches.
Although I think we will get hammered at QPR they score we don't end of. I still think the 2 most important games for us are Norwich and Spurs.. WIN those and we're safe. Lose either and we're fooked imo. Just can not see how we can pick up a pt anywhere from QPR, Sunderland nor the Saints. Negative? Maybe but our best chance has to be at home.. we've blown it numerous times already. NO more last chance saloon for us. PULIS, just. PICK our BEST 11 and I INCLUDE Pennant in that team and we COULD do it. If you don't beware the fans will have your guts for garters. Go to QPR and have a GO. How many times have we said that!
Potts, Key for Saturday is not to concede early on, if we can keep em out, and it's a big if, they will get panicky and we could end up getting something out of the game, they have to win everything from now on.
How our situation is at present I would take a point from a draw at QPR tomorrow and that's how I will vote. Earlier on in the season I would have had no worries about getting something at Loftus Road but how circumstances have changed. QPR are almost down so Pulis should be setting us up to press them in the hope that they will panic. QPR will fight however so Stoke need to match them. Lose and the pressure on us will increase.
Despite my comments above and my vote for a draw tomorrow would be a good opportunity to stop the rot in our away form and pull off a very much overdue win.....let's hope so for the fans and the player's sake (not necessarily for TP)
Ive gone for a very hopeful draw, but if it is to be a draw it will be a goalless one as we coulnt hit a cows arse with a banjo
O.K. I have voted for the first time in a while. For a draw based on the fact that. OUR AWAY form has to change sometime soon.. be it by luck or otherwise. And ANY fans who are going to the game. Stokie's I salute you all. HOPE that for once you have something to shout about. It's about time isn't it!
YYyeeeesssssssssssssssssss CROUCH you beauty GET IN! NOW hold it till half time For God's sake.... K T F guys
Judging by the last 3mins since we scored, the 2nd half is going to be a nightmare to listen to!!!. I`m debating whether to just go to the greenhouse and do a little bit of work in there, as I don`t think my nerves can stand it!! By the way Potts it`s on Radio Stoke FM 94.6 although I gather you must be listening in because you heard the Crouch goal.
Got it Joe thanks mate Think I'll put the hoover on... keep the wife happy and can't here the radio K T F JOE!
