Neil Warnock will take charge of the R’s for the first time on an interim basis, as the Hoops look to bounce back from back-to-back defeats in their last two fixtures Visitors Preston head to west London in fine fettle, with their midweek win at home to Nottingham Forest stretching their unbeaten run to five games, during which time they’ve picked up an impressive nine points. What’s more, Simon Grayson’s side have also kept a remarkable five clean sheets in a row and eight for the campaign – the joint highest in the division – something Grayson himself was very pleased of, speaking after Tuesday night’s victory over Forest. “It’s a remarkable run of five clean sheets at this moment in time, but it is about getting points on the board,” he said. “We want to play well and pass the ball around, but hopefully that will come as we get a little bit more belief.” That victory saw Preston climb to 16th place – and to within three points of Rangers – in the table, setting things up nicely for Saturday’s showdown in W12. please log in to view this image PNE – Likely line-up (4-4-2): Pickford, Vermijl, Reach, Woods, Wright, Cunningham, Browne, Gallagher, Johnson, Garner, Doyle QPR Possible Xl Take your pick for this one, it looks like most players are available judging by this photo please log in to view this image MATCH ODDS QPR win: 21/20 Draw: 9/4 PNE win: 23/10 LAST TIME OUT QPR 3, Preston North End 1 – Championship – Saturday 20th November 2010 Scorer: QPR – Hulse, Taarabt (2); PNE – o.g HEAD TO HEAD QPR wins: 10 Draws: 14 PNE wins: 11 MATCH OFFICIALS Referee: R Lewis Assistant Referee: D Rock & D Ford Fourth Official: J Linington Clint Hill's Message To The Players please log in to view this image Clint Hill on return of Neil Warnock – and players taking responsibility … CLINT Hill has urged his team-mates to step up to the mark after Chris Ramsey left his post as Head Coach this week, replaced by Neil Warnock who has taken over in a caretaker capacity. Hill was brought to Loftus Road by Warnock in 2010, and he hopes the return of his former gaffer to the QPR dugout can act as a catalyst for the R’s to get their season back on track. “I am disappointed for Chris,” Hill told www.qpr.co.uk. “He is a really nice guy and he tried really hard here. “Obviously circumstances changed with keeping the better players that we thought we might lose, but I am really sorry for him. “He helped me with my coaching, and my A-Licence, he gave me some tips which I massively appreciate. I text him last night to thank him for his hard work and the opportunity he gave me. “But now Neil has come in, so it’s gone full circle for me. He obviously brought me here, and nearly six years later he’s here again!” Hill, who is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, has enjoyed seeing the reaction of his team-mates to what he describes as Warnock’s “quirky” ways. “I know what to expect from him so I’ve been sitting back and watching everybody else’s expressions – they speak better than a thousand words!” he said. “He is a totally different character to probably what a lot of the lads are used to. He’s got his own quirky ways, which I love. It’s good to see him back in the game. He loves the club and will relish this.” Warnock’s bubbly character seems to have had an immediate impact on the squad, with Hill explaining: “He comes in, he brightens up the place, cracks a few jokes – but there’s a serious side to him. please log in to view this image BACK AT QPR: Hill says Warnock will relish his return to the club “He will give the lads all the confidence and belief they need, and they just need to back him. They have got to play for him. If they don’t, they’ll quickly discover there is a nasty side to him.” Now Hill believes the players need to step up to the challenge and accept their share of responsibility for what has been a disappointing start to the season. “It is up to the lads now,” he said. “You can blame managers and coaches and systems all you like, but at the end of the day it’s you that crosses that line. “We, as a team, as a group, as a club, need to really kick on now and have a decent campaign.” The second coming of Warnock – Preview Saturday, 7th Nov 2015 00:37 by Clive Whittingham please log in to view this image Neil Warnock will be back in the dugout at Loftus Road tomorrow for the start of his second spell in charge, almost four years after the controversial and harsh end to his first. “Muck and nettles, headers and tackles,” it was like Neil Warnock had never been away. Apart from the hairline, now as far back as a Clint Hill and Richard Dunne backline, you could almost close your eyes, listen to his interviews today and pretend that whole Mark Hughes-Harry Redknapp-Chris Ramsey period didn’t happen at all. What a glorious thought. No massive debt, no pathetic relegations, no Jose Bosingwa, no Mobido Maiga. Clint Hill and Jamie Mackie (aka Jairmi Macki) are still here. Maybe this is like Dallas and I’m going to step out of the shower tomorrow and it’s going to be 2011 again. Do it properly this time Rangers please for the love of all that’s good in the world. Problem is, by stepping back in Warnock is putting his legacy at QPR at risk. Ray Wilkins isn’t remembered nearly as fondly as he should be in W12 because of his poor spell as manager which now overshadows the fantastic service he gave the club as a player. Les Ferdinand, who dodged the bullet as a player when second spells were available to him, could also now go down the same road – “when is Les Ferdinand leaving?” asked one message board thread this week before calling one of the club’s greatest ever players a “chancer”. I'm getting in the mood by starting a 24 hour solo Congo line rounding the bar fridge every 50 metres. Bartender ........ On the next pass, have a coldie ready. sport. Ah, the joys of being an R'rs fan!
They've not conceded a goal for a month. Can't see us winning if I'm being honest but for the love of god drop Konchesky and at least one of those goons plodding around in midfield.
I reckon Polter might be a Colin type player. I'd like him to get a proper chance, I suspect he's not very good but could be disruptive and irritating. Faurlin, Hill, Mackie.........and of course Clive forgot ARMAND TRAORE as a survivor of Colin's 2011-12 squad. Get warmed up Mandy....what, you've done your hammy walking onto the pitch? Oh dear. I hope the 100% of posters on here who never boo will take on the 'fans' at LR who do if it happens today.
Am hoping for a good, positive performance and a win. I think NW will find a mix of solid v flair which unfortunately proved elusive to CR. Hope the rain stops... Come on U Rrrrsss!!
Not a bad turn out themaclad. especially at the prices we charge! We have no idea how we will perform today. Expect anything between 5-0 to us & 5-0 to you! Hopefully you enjoy the day, but don't have reason to be chanting PNE at us all afternoon!
Already? You can tell how far Tel is gone by the volume he uses in abusing half and half scarf sellers on the walk from the C&S to the ground.
Ok, my Congo line has crashed and burned but bartender is still dancing on the spot ................ or maybe it's me spinning out of control. As you were, folks .........................hope Warnock can weave his magic just for old times' sake. Have a great game day, people, my mattress has just rush towards me ............ splat! Aussie, hic!
Great work Nines. Don't know how you find the time between all the nonsense of late, with all the modding and all. Credit to you What team Neil will pick is anyones guess. But one thing's for sure, Faurlin will start. What if he pulled a rabbit out of the hat and started Diakite?! Now that would be something!! A central midfield duo of Faurlin and Diakite would destroy anything in front of them.
Oh my God. Are you on the p•ss as well mate? Diakite would be sent off after 20 minutes and Faurlin heading for the emergency department of the local hospital again!!!
