, A good win for the lads, an ugly win by all counts, but a good 3 points none the less. We seem to have reverted back to a game of 2 halves for Leeds. First half was scrappy for us, wasn't a lot better for QPR but they did seem to have the upper hand, we lost the midfield during first half, which allowed QPR to have the edge over us and seemingly stopped us from settling and playing good passing football;, but our defense stood steadfast and swatted the flies as they got close to our goal. Second half saw us come out a different team, we upped a gear but were still finding it hard to break QPR and get that all important first goal. Before Roofe got his first goal, I was resigned to thinking someone's going to nick this and win 1-0. Then we saw Alioski down the left wing and put in a great pinpoint cross for Roofe to out jump the 2 QPR defenders and head home our first goal; pretty good for someone who doesn't use his head much. This seemed to be the moment Leeds cranked it up a bit and began playing much better with what seemed a lot more enthusiasm. We continued to pressure QPR with some near misses untill Cibicki picked up a pass from Ayling down the right, he then popped in a low accurate cross for Roofe to slot home for his second. Players were quick to gather around, and congratulate Cibicki for his great cross, it's as if they were happy he was playing. 2-0 seemed like a comfortable lead, we continued to pressured QPR, but QPR were upping their game too and putting pressure on our defence. Then the clanger that could be heard all o'er Yorkshire. After a QPR corner was cleared to our midfield, a QPR defender had time and space to lob the ball back into our 6 yard box, then we saw a Weidwald howler as he misjudged the bounce and the ball went over the line despite Weidwalds attempted scramble to knock it out. Fluke goal for QPR, but still a goal, they all count. I got berated for mentioning the goal came from our midfield, which it did, however, since when, from corners or deep wide free kicks do we leave opposing players unmarked around the edge of our penalty area, we do it we get punished, we did it and got punished, irrespective of Weidwalds big blunder. If anyone should've been in that space it should've been Roofe. You can see in the highlights that two of our players recognised the danger and tried desperately to run towards the opposing player, and stop the pass or lob, couldn't get there quick enough because of the amount of space between our defending and the goal scorer, result, a goal. You can guarantee that the coaches will be looking at that mistake and talking about how to fix it during future games. If we'd have all our players in the opposing penalty area looking for an equaliser or winning goal from a corner, and the opponents break quickly to score, do we say you can't blame the defence cos they were all up for the corner.......no you can't, there would've been a Spanish inquisition on it. TC congratulated Felix after match and said to the reporter, what do you want me to say, thank you for those 2 or 3 good saves. Thing with TC is, imo, he's transfixed with certain players, he has tunnel vision and wants, or plays them despite bad performances, howlers or screw ups, he's stubborn and doesn't seem to want to listen to anyone. TC says he's happy with the squad he has, and doesn't see the need for new players, well, there's the tunnel vision for you. At 2-1 the pressure was back on Leeds to stop a second goal happening from QPR, and despite the pressure from QPR, we rallied, we defended and thwarted their attacks, then, against the run of play, Saiz went on a run from our half to the edge of the QPR penalty area, chose to pass to roofe and Rofe slotted home his 3rd goal for his hat trick and seal the win for Leeds. Not a brilliant performance by our lads, but a good performance during second half after a scrappy first. Midfield is our weakness, TC needs to open his eyes and recognise this and fix appropriately. We saw Cibicki come on as sub for Ekuban after being left out in cold all season, he had a big impact on game and played well, and most fans and journalists have recognised that fact. Now, and I doubt it'll happen as TC seems to have a grudge against Klitch, but now we need to give Klitch a couple of games to see if it does actually strength, and make a difference to our midfield. IMO, Phillips needs to be dropped, but we probably won't see Klitch in action untill January against Newport County. If we are to seriously challenge for a promotion spot, and gain promotion, changes need to be made in midfield, or better midfielders brought in. Enjoy. Most have seen highlights already that Ristac put up earlier. Reason I started putting kids vlogs in the highlights posts is cos it's interesting to see their side of the game, and shows they too can air their opinions and views from their young point of view, and have every right to do so. These kids go to many games, they are future fans of Leeds United. Bonus Top 10 best championship away fans........guess where we are? Best away fans in football league 2015, guess where we were.
Midfields' fault for the goal, play Klich, ironic your use of the term 'tunnel vision' to describe TC
Well your tunnel vision in your useless attempts to debunk me are there for all to see. And for the record, show me where I said it was the midfield's fault, or are to blame, I have continually said it was Weidwalds howler, I have however pointed out where the lob come from, and why.
This on the Match day Thread I'm taking the same stance, I too am not going to be drawn into debate, it's a pointless and time consuming exercise that gets you nowhere.
Got to agree with a lot of this, TC has tunnel vision and is blinkered in his view. Berardi was garbage again yesterday and made to look silly by Matt Smith when competing for the ball but will TC drop him? Of course not, he is too stubborn and hasn’t played at the 23rd level of football. Also, for all we know, Klich may be the De Bruyne of the Championship but will TC give him a chance? No, stubborn coach, even after six consecutive poor performances he won’t drop Alioski. TC out, Monk out, Redders out bring back Milosoface or the melon
Actually, I blame Cellino. If he hadn’t been so quick to cash in on Cooke, Phillips may be struggling for a game now. Also, if he hadn’t treated Ward and Redfearn with unprofessional contempt, maybe Taylor would have considered staying and that poor Swiss player would be carrying the half time oranges. No point worrying about it now I guess but........ thank you Rad
Is your irony meter on the blink? Great post earlier by the way about Viera, Phillips and Alioski (should have included Saiz and Jannson imo) right on the money
Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, and those who choose to use it as a blunt weapon are lower still.......with respects of course.
