    Team News

Joey Barton and Junior Hoilett are injury doubts for QPR ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet Championship clash with Huddersfield at Loftus Road.

Barton suffered a thigh injury during the first half of last weekend's 3-1 win at Ipswich and Hoilett has missed the last two matches with a hamstring problem.

Striker Bobby Zamora (knee) could return to the squad after scoring for the reserves in a midweek friendly while full-back Luke Young (hip) also got a run-out.

Argentine midfielder Alejandro Faurlin remains a long-term absentee as he recovers from a cruciate injury.

Huddersfield's leading goalscorer James Vaughan hopes to return from injury, while latest signing Nahki Wells could make his full debut.

Vaughan has been sidelined since December 21, missing the last five games due to an ankle injury, while Wells stepped off the bench to score Huddersfield's last-minute winner last week following his £1.3million switch from Bradford.

Boss Mark Robins, who must decide whether to partner Vaughan and Wells together up front or retain Martin Paterson, is still without defender Joel Lynch, who has missed the last two games due to a hip injury.

Skipper Peter Clarke remains sidelined following knee surgery as Town chase their first league win on the road in four matches.

    The Ref

The Ref with a head like a cue-ball and IT MANAGER Simon Hooper will take charge of Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship clash against Huddersfield Town at Loftus Road.

The former Swindon Town centre-forward was released by the Robins as a 16-year-old following seven years at the County Ground and soon switched his attentions to becoming a referee.

After learning his trade in the Hellenic League, Southern League and Conference Premier he ran the line in the Football League in 2006.

A keen sportsman - Hooper represented Wiltshire at tennis and athletics as a youngster – he is now in his sixth season on the Football League list.

Saturday’s fixture in W12 will be Hooper’s first Queens Park Rangers match this season.

He was due to take charge of the R's match against Burnley earlier this season but a late change saw him replaced by Andy Haines 24 hours before the match.

This season Hooper has officiated 20 games issuing 75 yellow cards, two red cards and six spot kicks.

Hooper will be assisted by Paul Harris and Andy Newbold, whilst Ian Crouch will be on hand for fourth official duties.

Another masterpiece Nines - if we can't score tomorrow, perhaps that former CF ref can help us out?

Thanks mate, the thread takes me about an hour to build. Your comment is very much appreciated, but please don't feel that you need to do it every week.
I hope Mr Hooper does a good job tomorrow and that he plays no part in the after match deliberations.

    Great work as ever Nines.

They did come up with another stat on London Call-In this week. Apparently we have not let in a 2nd half goal at home for 9 months! Long may that continue...

    Nice one ninesy.

If your line up is correct, we will see BAE left exposed and up against two at times as Kranky won't get back to help him.
Hopefully we'll have too much for them though.

Setting off soon as I have to get the lad from a mate's house and begin a load of running around before I can get to the ground.

    COYRS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Well done Nines. As usual.

Is £1.3 million all it took to prise Nakhi Wells away? No wonder we missed him. We only look apparently if the player has a seven figure price and is a proven winner. I hope fate is not about to teach us a lesson given the speed with which we get to play against him. Perhaps we'll be bidding for someone like Hooper again. Because he turned us down once no doubt we will up our offer. It would be nice if, just for once we walked away from a deal at the last minute because the player wanted too much leaving him to get on with it at the club he's just rubbished. Then again, it would be nice if we actually signed anyone who can kick and head the ball into the net and who feels at home in the opposition penalty area without roling out the fanfare for yet another so-called world class player who wants to play for us.

1.3m? think of young on 40k, SWP on 60k, Cesar on 100k,zamora on 50k, AJ on 40k and it's not even a months wasted wages.

we could have had 7 or 8 wells type players instead of those above.

We are practicing 442 for when the new striker comes in.
Can't understand why Philips is on the bench, no wingers on the pitch.
