Defender Hill missed Sunday's goalless draw at Watford through illness and striker Austin remains a major doubt with a hamstring injury. In Austin's absence and with Bobby Zamora and Andy Johnson deemed not fit enough to start, midfielder Niko Kranjcar played up front on his own at Vicarage Road but could not prevent Rangers' goal drought extending to three matches. Midfielder Alejandro Faurlin remains a long-term absentee with a cruciate injury. Doncaster boss Paul Dickov, meanwhile, expects to begin the new year with the same squad that finished 2013 as he prepares Rovers for a trip to QPR. The South Yorkshire club incurred no new problems on Sunday as they halted a four-game losing run with a goalless home draw against fellow Championship strugglers Millwall. Strikers Chris Brown (ankle) and Billy Paynter (Achilles) and midfielder James Coppinger (heel) have recently been added to an already lengthy injury list and the trio look unlikely to recover in time for the New Year's Day fixture in London. Defenders Jamie McCombe (back), Rob Jones (neck), James Husband (shoulder) and midfielder Paul Keegan (hamstring) have been out for some time and will remain on the sidelines. please log in to view this image My apologies for an abbreviated MD thread. I was up late and have to get to the game. COYR's.... Happy New Year all... Nines.
Have to allow 9's the odd abbreviation given the time of year etc.... Anyway Happy New Year fellow Hoopsters, here's hoping that we can start with a bang.....COYR's....
This game is a bit of a litmus test.1st January, piss poor weather, facing a team that has already beaten us. The only result HAS to be a win, surely.U Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs!
QPR XI: Green; Simpson, Onuoha, Dunne, Assou-Ekotto, Barton, Kranjcar, Hoilett, O’Neil, Benayoun, Austin.
Hope they haven't rushed Austin back just for the sake of it.....mind i suppose he could always be rested for Everton on Saturday....
I desperately hope to be proven wrong but I fear Austin has been rushed back as a hammy injury needs far more time than he's had. How Hoilett remains in the side on current form is beyond me.
Just a theory but their left-winger is by far their best player. Might be tactical though I don't agree with it.
As an aside see Fulham have selected both Taarabt & Berbetov against WHU, not sure about that as they may be good going forward but defensively they're have 9 men to defend with......could be alot of goals there this afternoon......
CORKer, think 9's may have been a tad hungover/sleep deprivation to face doing the Managers profile, still if you can find a model with the name Dickov you'd be doing very well!!!! Happy New Year my friend, are you joining us for the Burnley game or does it clash with 6 nations?
