Masky’s old drinking pal Rodney Marsh has been on again. Was asking about goal machine Gary Madine....is he in....is he out.....I asked the question “how can you tell?” All I could say, and I’ve said it before.....he’s about to strike a brace, maybe more....who can say? Went on to ask what time they reduce the avocados in The Central Market. 3.30pm is the best time for reductions in said place....grab a bargain! 2-1 City, 2 from Madine!
Remember reading in Marsh's book about how much respect he had for Don Murray, especially after Don had found out that Marsh was playing with a broken toe and trod on it. I remember the game. It was a 1-1 at Niinian Park with Marsh having s game winning penalty saved. As for this encounter, I don't know. Rangers playing some good football but are inconsistent. I think rhat Harris might be showing signs of a bit of tactical flexibility but whether it's enough is anyone's call. Ive gone for a 2-3, but I blame the time of year for that.
QPR will be without Yoann Barbet and Charlie Owens for the visit of Cardiff. Defender Barbet continues to recover from a hamstring problem and Owens has a knee injury, but goalkeeper Liam Kelly is available again after damaging his quad in November. Stan Bowles could start! Cardiff are boosted by the return of captain Sean Morrison after a three-match ban for his red card at Leeds. Lee Peltier is doubtful with a foot injury, while Joe Ralls is unlikely to feature, having broken his hand. Match facts QPR have won 13 of their last 17 home league matches against Cardiff City, including the last two in a row. Cardiff are looking to complete a league double over QPR for the first time since the 2007-08 season. QPR and Cardiff have faced each other on New Year's Day once previously. The Hoops won 2-1 back in 2018. Cardiff manager Neil Harris is winless in his last three games when facing QPR in the Championship. His last victory over Rangers came while in charge of Millwall in December 2017. QPR boss Mark Warburton has lost each of his last four games against Cardiff - all in the Championship, with three different sides, Brentford, Nottingham Forest (twice) and QPR. Cardiff have lost their last three league games on New Year's Day, although two of those defeats were in the Premier League in 2013/14 and 2018/19.
Have I just witnessed that? Embarrassing defending. All goals avoidable. Slow start again and when they do get half chances nothing is happening. No real threat or pressure by them, plenty of passes but we’re making it easy for them as our defence is so deep. No pace on the break. No midfielders able to break the line. Have to question the manager going 5 at the back without effective wing backs.
Well, talk about chalk and cheese between this game and our last.... Mid table definitely beckoning for us.
Sorry boys as I seem to have given you the kiss of death with my top 6 prediction. The good news is, as it stands, you're still only 3 points outside the play offs. Currently 22/1 for the draw...you couldn't do it again could you ?
Hopefully Harris half time team talk was the same as he gave at Leeds, or this could be embarrassing.
Not good. Just write it off as a bad day at the office. As I said, only 3 points behind as it stands and if you're going to lose, then may as well do it in style
