Sep 1 2011 By Paul Warburton QPR missed out on a loan-deal for Jason Puncheon because transfer forms for his Loftus Road move arrived two minutes late last night (Wednesday). Protracted negotiations with Southampton, the wingerâs club, meant Hoops could only fax the paperwork to the FA at 11.02pm â just outside the time limit before the transfer window slammed shut. Puncheon had already agreed terms with the Premiership new boys â but now must return to Saints and their Championship campaign. http://www.ealinggazette.co.uk/sport/qpr-ealing/2011/09/01/qpr-two-minutes-too-late-to-sign-jason-puncheon-64767-29344994/
Not overly bothered tbh.... glad Ferdinand got done in time tho.... That was faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar more important imo.
So typical.................I dont understand why these clubs leave everything till the last frigging minute. They have days/weeks to sort this out and they fax the bloody paper work at 11.02pm on deadline day!
Agree. But as a loan where he would have to impress between now and january to earn a permanent deal would still be a smart signing. Whats positive is that Mackie and Smith will play more without Puncheon around.
What's the betting that Warnock was stood next to the fax machine making sure that Ferdinand's paperwork took priority?
It says on sky his name has appeared on the premier league website's list of completed deadline day transfers!!
I dont understand that Puncheon was their at 9.30 pm how could that take so long,i get a feeling that NW decided not to take him when he new SWP was finally coming to the club after saying it was upto Man city now whether he joined or not just trying to cover his a**e.
