QPR told to up offer for Blues Alex .Friday 13th January 2012, 1:49am FOOTBALL FRANK DALLERES CHELSEA manager Andre Villas-Boas admits unsettled defender Alex could be on his way to west London rivals QPR â but only at the right price. The Brazilian is transfer listed and Villas-Boas confirmed a top-flight side had lodged a bid, with new Rangers boss Mark Hughes understood to want to make the 29-year-old his first signing. âThere has been an approach from a Premier League club. We have respected Alexâs transfer request so the market is open for him,â said the Portuguese. âWeâre just trying to reach the level of proposal we think is good for the player. Nothing has happened up to now, but weâll listen to all offers. âWeâll present anything to the player. He has to make a decision. He has generated interest from a lot of clubs.â Alexâs departure is poised to coincide with the arrival of a ready-made replacement in Boltonâs Gary Cahill, who is close to joining the Blues. The England centre-back, who is available at a knock-down £7m because his contract is due to expire in the summer, has spent the week locked in negotiations with Chelsea. Captain racist John Terry, meanwhile, has been passed fit for tomorrowâs visit of resurgent Sunderland, who have won five from seven since Martin OâNeill took charge
Depending on fitness,Im not suprised 3 mill has been rejected.Im sure we will come need to come back with 5 mill. Sounds promising. I still think we need to prepare ourselves to watch Clint Hill,Mackie and Derry start against the Magpies!..
A bit risky sticking him straight in on Sunday if he does sign, he hasn't played for a while and in a new team...
Here's the latest news, doesn't look too promising... http://www.dailystar.co.uk/posts/view/229914/Mark-Hughes-rocked-by-Alex-snub
I think he maybe - reckon he's as good as Samba who it is rumoured bidding is around £7 million for.
Anyone else getting the feeling that we may not end up with any new decent players this transfer window?
The thing is, other clubs know we are desperate and that we've got money. So if we want players like samba ,alex ,pienaar etc and we want them quick we will have to pay way over the odds for all of them, basically put in offers that are simply too good to turn down.
We'd better start doing that then Dan, cos we don't look like having any new players for Sunday and, if we don't get some decent players in, we're ****ed!!
We still have 2 weeks, virtually all the business is done in the last 2-3 days. Of course Id like someone in for Wigan but would you rather get Andy Johnson now or someone that actually scores in 2 weeks?
Diddo broadstreet boy! We will get our man but only towards the end of transfer window. Transfer window is like a big puzzle or something. Like this: Club A wont let player X go to Club B before they know they can get player y from Club C. Club C arent willing to sell PLAYER Y before their player z has certainly recovered from injury/or is back suspension. When you add the fact that you can get the player you want cheaper if you are willin to wait until the end of transfer window. Mind you it's something like a game of poker.
Well we know for a fact Onuha isnt coming until Kompany finishes his suspension so thats 10pm on deadline day, thats one last minute player for sure. Thankfully for us we only play Newcastle and Wigan in January, so all players will be available for Villa on the 1st.
