QPR to try luck with bid for England midfielder

QPR are preparing an audacious attempt to land current West Ham midfielder and England international Scott Parker after hearing of his intentions to remain in the London area for the forseeable future.
Whilst West Ham United were relegated at the end of last season under Avram Grant, Neil Warnock’s side, Queens Park Rangers won the Champions at a canter and the West London outfit are looking to sturdy the ship in the hope of remaining a Premiership side beyond next season.
Although QPR are in a position to raise the financial bar up a level or two it has been claimed that the owners will not over spend in the hope of keeping the team in England’s top tier but they are ready to try and lure experienced quality players should they become available.
Luck will play a part in luring Parker to QPR however and with Tottenham and Arsenal also keen to land the 30 year old “player of the season”, Parker may feel that a new campaign that includes European football should be on top of his agenda. With Arsenal in the Champions League and Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League competition he will have plenty of options in London and it is believed that a bid for Parker by QPR will be a long shot at the very least.
Parker himself has claimed he will make a decision on his future when he returns from his holidays at the end of June where it is believed he shall have numerous offers by at least three Premiership clubs for his services waiting for his perusal. A value of £5m for Parker has been discussed as realistic for the West Ham midfielder and it is likely that the East London club will accept offers around that figure.

    What a choice:

Play for Arsenal in the Champions League?

Play for Spurs in the Europa League?

Play for QPR in the Fantasy League with crackpot owners and the finger on the trigger of the gun pointing at the manager's head?

If they land Parker I'll kiss Flav's arse in the centre circle at Loftus Road! :emoticon-0119-puke:

If Swansea can go for a World Cup winner, why can't you get Scott Parker.

No offense but at least he would be guaranteed loads of games at Loftus Road where if he went to Arsenal or Spurs I don't think he would play very often.

The Premier League's player of the season wouldn't play very often at Arsenal or Spurs, you must be having a laugh!

He's exactly what Arsenal need, not so much Spurs.

I know it sounds arrogant to say that but I really can't see where he would play at Spurs.

We have Modric, Huddlestone and Sandro so he would be the ideal 4th central midfielder but he wouldn't play every week.

Plus we have Palacios, Jenas and O'Hara who aren't bad players either although I suspect 2 will be sold.

sooperhoop, Wenger has messed up by not getting more British steel down the spine of his teams last few years. IMO

Agree with that Northolt, although I hate to say it that's why Chelscum have been successful and the Arses haven't!

the prem player of the year will come from qpr next year so why not..

He'd be on £100K a week at Arsenal or very near that, totally out of our league...

I have real doubts that we will spend enough to strengthen the team sufficiently to survive unless Mittal takes over sooner rather than later.
