We host a QPR side tomorrow, looking to get back to winning ways. Currently, our home form is nothing to write home about. We all know QPR are one of the best sides in the division, have spent a ridiculous amount of money and are fully expected to gain automatic promotion. I would absolutely ( Kevin Keegan style ) be DELIGHTED should they fail to gain promotion, much like I was with Watford failing to last season. Sadly, I think we could struggle in this fixture and am predicting a 2-1 defeat. I think our overall performance will be much better tomorrow, I just feel QPR have more quality all over the park and will prove a tough nut to crack. I haven't predicted a win since Doncaster I don't think! Again, REALLY want to be proved wrong. Hoping Hunty and SEB will make the squad, however as of yet NO news on SEB's injury so I don't know how that's going. Apparently QPR have sold 1300, so I'll go for a ' bumper crowd ' of 18.000. Also, those sitting in the North Stand, please take note on the fantastic 200 traveling German fans on how to make an atmosphere. The Bundusliga is without question where it's at for atmosphere. Do fans pile out of the ground on 78 minutes like they do at the big clubs here? NO. They quite literally ALL stay until 10/20 after the game with the players coming over, arms all in the air and chanting/ joining in with the fans. The ' atmosphere ' in England is often very much lacking. COYB!
I'm going for a not so dull 2-1 to the Town (thats buggered us now!) with the hoops going down to 10 men on the 30 min mark due to a crap ref decision while being 1-0 up! Didsy and Skuse for us, 19,232 for the crowd.
I don't we think have a hope in hell of getting much from this game, i honestly feel QPR will give us a tonking, with Smith getting getting sent off early on. (0-3)
Any particular reason why you think Tommy will get a red card tomorrow? He hasn't exactly got form for it, has he?
The Beeb are showing us as the first Featured game on the Football League show tomorrow night! I wonder if that's because we are playing QPR or the fact that it's 6th v 3rd! Hmmmm..... Glad to see that we are still very much under the radar!
2-1 Town McG and Hunt Attendance 18265 Whilst some feel we won't get anything from this game I think we will just go about our normal business, restricting them to shots from outside the box. Dids to score a rebound off a Murphy header from a corner. Hunt to score from the left corner of the box.
Looks like i'm the only one that doesn't fancy our chances then...lets hope i'm wrong again (as is usual when i predict our scores). I think we're usually due one or two thrashings a season, add to that we're in a slightly false league position, in that we are NOT the sixth best team in the league (cue the "yes we are the sixth best team" posts") and we're not doing great at home, and also i feel QPR, on their day, are a far superior team to us - all this leads me to believe we will lose quite easily!
With all the Gazillions they have spent Stretchy so they should be! We have played every team once so far in this league and the biggest thrashing so far was 2-0 at Wigan when we really should have won!
I'm changing my second scorer to Alan Lee as Mick has said he is on the bench for tomorrow, Last minute power header! Come On!
I will predict a 1-1 draw as this is probably the safest bet QPR will keep the ball considerably better than us and it will be a hard slog and a frustrating afternoon... but we'll score from a corner (Berra) but Austin will pop up with a goal in front of the SBR and will then celebrate wildly... just to p!ss us off
gone for 0-0 on sky sports super six. Defensive first strategy, QPR wont be able to break us down (they couldn't at Loftus until the last minute) but their superior individual talent will prevent us from threatening their goal too much.
I'm predicting a comfortable 1-4, and a McGoldrick breakdown when Nedum Onouha releases him from his pocket at the end of the game.
