QPR the latest club to show interest in Deeney By Matt Derrig ⋅ July 17, 2014 ⋅ Post a comment Queens Park Rangers are reportedly chasing Watford striker Troy Deeney, report the Daily Mail. The 26 year old has been in fine goalscoring form for the Vicarage Road side over the last two seasons as he established himself as one of the Championships most deadly finishers. Having joined the club in 2010 from Walsall, the last two seasons have seen Deeney score 40 league goals as Watford missed out on the Play-Offs both years by small margins. Watford will be hoping to keep Deeney at the club to re-unite him with former strike partner Matej Vydra who rejoined the Hornets from Udinese this summer, so would demand a big fee from the likes of QPR and Swansea for the Birmingham born forward.
He is likely to be feeling out of place in a Serie A feeder club given his lack of Italian so a short drive down the M1 and an opportunity with an English Premier League club probably sounds very attractive.
I'm surprised that we have not been linked with him before. Would be a very good signing in my opinion.
Always like the idea of a big strong CF in creating mayhem in the box, and creating space for others.
