You don't score 29 goals at 2nd tier level without being a capable striker, sounds like a promising deal...
He's a quality player - i watch a lot of Spanish football, and he would definately be a good purchase if NW can get him settled quickly!
El Danny indeed. He may be as good, may be even better but relocating from Spain as opposed to Watford is a rather different proposition.
Are you saying that there are no similarities between Spain & Watford? For starters the climate is almost identical!
He does look like a natural finisher from those clips. What I liked about Graham was that he linked up play as well and would have brought our attacking midfielders into the game. This guy looks a sharper finisher, but maybe offers less to the overall team play - if it is possible to make such a judgement after 7 minutes of clips!
how much are you expecting us to spend on one player? if we are looking to sign five or six, the board are not going to spend £6m on one player. couple this with the fact that someone who costs more will command higher wages. also, foreign players are normally cheaper than their english equivalent, so he may be a better bet. having said that, this is probably another one that won't happen.
1982. In truth, I was hoping for £15 to £20m. Given the worth of the promotion, the price of the season tickets and the the wealth of the owners, I really did not think that unreasonable. I guess will be a lot less by the time we are done. Let's hope we don't get another player for £3.5m that actually cost us nothing!!!!!!!
i would agree that £20m is not unreasonable, especially given the board's 4 year plan! i think it would cost a good percentage of that just to make sure we stay up, unfortunately it doesn't look as though that will happen just yet. still, there's time yet for us to be pleasantly surprised...
Looks a good player from the clips. Has shown a good eye for goal, seemed to have good strength against defenders and brave enough to get in there to get on the ball. A few little tricks too. Quite impressive from a short clip! Who knows... maybe an NW find as we got with Mackie last year.
Hmmm... just seen the clips. Reminds me of someone. Could it be Helguson...? Hulse maybe? Chavvi War! Curious name. Certainly wouldn't object to him leading our line.
NUFC fan in peace. This seems like a bit of a naff signing to be honest. You guys should be aiming much higher to ensure survival and a good set of results next season. Quality in the Segunda Division is poor. There's a big step up to La Liga, and even the overall standard of that league is poor compared to the EPL. There's a big gap between the likes of Barcelona/Real Madrid and the rest of the teams. I'd say he'd find it much more difficult even moving up to La Liga, nevermind the EPL, so £3mill for this guy, when he's 29, is a bit mental. There are far more proven EPL strikers available for near that price who may not have 'future potential', but they can still net 8-10 goals a season, which should do the trick alongside your current strikeforce. I thought that buying players from La Liga was a gamble for the EPL, nevermind buying from their second division. In your teams situation, you're more or less bringing up a team of players where most of them are unproven in the Premier League, so the last thing to do is bring in even more unproven players from abroad. It's far too much of a gamble in my opinion. Anyway, good luck for next season.
