Arsenal have been strongly linked with the French international whilst Liverpool are seeking to bolster their squad as they prepare for Champions League football next season after a season with no European distraction. Remy was spotted in the stands when Arsenal beat West Bromwich Albion at the Emirates Stadium earlier this month. He has also been selected in Franceâs World Cup squad. The 27-year old joined Queens Park Rangers in January 2013 for a fee believed to be £8 million and despite scoring 6 goals in 14 matches, he could not help the Hoops avoid the drop.
Apparently rumour is 4 of the top 6 want him. We should get excellent money for him and for once Rangers lets play the game and have them fighting over him. We have spent too much on average players and given too many away. If we dont, wouldnt be a bad proposition in premier league?!
Unfortunately, I don't see how we'll get any more than the figure quoted in the buy out clause in his contract. I don't think that happens.
The only possibility is if the release clause states that he is allowed to leave if we are in the championship - get promoted tomorrow, and that *might* not be applicable - probably clutching at straws, but since no-one really seems to be quite sure what the contract actually says, we might be in with a shout...
All of this is pure conjecture, as no one knows what exactly his contract states. There have been many examples of players having buy-out clauses and they go for that amount, and others that get a higher value. So it is useless to hypothecate on the proceeds we may get.
