QPR defender Max Ehmer confirms he would rather join loan club Gillingham permanently rather than sit on the bench for the R’s.

The 23-year-old has been in impressive form for the Kent side this season since joining in January, but admits he gets on very well with Chris Ramsey and so things could have been very different.
Whether Ramsey, or Ehmer, will be at QPR next season is another question and the German-born defender is yet to make decision on his future despite admitting his interest in staying with the Gills.
“I’d prefer to play here every week than be sat on the bench at QPR if I’m being honest,” Ehmer told Kent Online.
“It’s the sort of club I could see myself coming to, 100%. While I’ve been here I’ve really enjoyed it and I haven’t regretted it one bit.”
When asked what the situation with Ramsey is, Ehmer added: “I don’t know anything, really, because they don’t even know if Chris Ramsey’s staying next year. I literally have no idea.
“I speak to Les (Ferdinand) and Chris Ramsey a lot but it’s hard for them to say ‘we want you to play next year’ because Chris doesn’t even know himself if he’s going to be manager.
“Me and Chris get on really well so maybe I would have been around it this season had I stayed. But I signed my loan and the day after, Redknapp goes, so there wasn’t a lot I could do.”
“I literally don’t know what happens in the summer. That’s the only thing stopping me right now.”

Hope we can keep him and find someone stupid enough to take Caulker for the majority of what we paid.

This sentence says more than a thousand words!
(Edit: "I signed my loan and the day after, Redknapp goes, so there wasn't a lot I could do."

If he's doing well then hopefully we can have a look at him in the Summer with a view to giving him a chance.

I'm not sure about the use of the word Starlet though - it evokes images of a Bonnie Langford type belting out songs from Annie.

"I literally don't know what happens in the summer......"

I do wish people would stop using the word "literally" in this sort of context.......

Unnecessary in this context, but at least it's true.

Better than "he's literally on fire".

Can a 23 year old really be classed as a starlet?

Only 23? Christ, he seems to have been around for ever, he's had more loans than Wonga. If we go down he should be given a chance in the squad, if he doesn't cut it we can move him on but he may just surprise us...

As he's been around for so long, there's always the chance that he's not good enough.

Yeah well he can fook off for all I care.
Blo_ody bench-warmer telling us what to do, I won't have it.
Look at us fans, we've been here since before he was even born but you don't hear us whinging about sitting on the bench.
Sure would be a lot better than sitting in those terraces on a windy night, I'll give you the drum.
Blo_ody youngun's .................... here five minutes and they want to run the show!
