    Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp is ready to sign French Under-21 winger Paul-Georges Ntep in a stunning £5 million deal.

    Redknapp has set up the move with Auxerre and hopes to talk the fiery attacker into dropping to the Championship this weekend.




    Ntep has been linked with several Premier League sides, including Arsenal, and Hull City but Redknapp has stepped in with the first serious offer.

    The Cameroon-born wide man also plays in the second tier in France, so he is likely to accept the challenge - and bid for a quick move to the top this season.

    It is a huge coup for Redknapp who is pushing a chunk of his budget in one direction - and may have to sacrifice a striker deal as a result.

    Redknapp could take Modibo Maiga from West Ham if he can get him on loan, but the striker may be sold to Rennes instead.

    I refuse to get excited about any transfer talk till I see it on the offish, I have wasted so much time reading articles like this in the last week
