POTY 2015/16 winners announced … Grant Hall named Supporters' Player of the Year Tjaronn Chery wins awards double Alan Barnes scoops Supporter of the Year award QPR duo Grant Hall and Tjaronn Chery have capped fine maiden seasons at Loftus Road by featuring prominently in the club's end of season awards. Defender Hall, who arrived from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, has been named Supporters' Player of the Year by R's fans, in a season in which he's made 41 appearances to date, scoring one goal. Chery, meanwhile, has scooped two awards, winning the Ray Jones Players’ Player of the Year and Junior Hoops’ Player of the Year gongs. The Dutchman, another summer arrival from FC Groningen, has enjoyed a strong campaign in W12, with 10 goals to his name in the Championship so far. The Daphne Biggs Supporters’ Young Player of the Year award goes to Darnell Furlong for the second season in a row. The young right-back has spent two successful loan spells away from Loftus Road this season, featuring 11 times for League Two champions Northampton Town in the first half of the campaign, before joining Cambridge United, for whom he's made 20 appearances to date. Junior Hoilett is the recipient of the Kiyan Prince Goal of the Season award. The Canadian's sublime individual effort against Brentford in our 3-0 victory over the Bees in March received over 50 per-cent of the votes from the six-goal shortlist. Finally, Alan Barnes has been voted Supporter of the Year by his fellow fans. Alan, a lifelong QPR fan who travels home and away to follow the club, was injured whilst travelling to our fixture against Nottingham Forest earlier this season, but is now on the road to recovery - and already back supporting QPR, of course! The awards will be presented prior to our final fixture of the season against Bristol City on Saturday. Grant Hall player of the year, either I need to go to specsavers or the other 18,000 people in the stadium do. I suppose it must be me as I have yet to see him have more than a handful of good games all year. Chery is the players player of the year - wouldn't argue with that. He also gets young supporter player of the year. Young player of the year - Furlong. The fact he was away on loan at a lower league club all season tells you everything you need to know about the lack of emerging talent at the club. Hoilett gets goal of the season - absolutely, it was a cracker. Alan Barnes supporter of the year. Again, he is the right choice and I am delighted for him.
Grant Hall started well for us and had a really good spell before he got injured. He wasn't as effective when he returned and made quite a few mistakes. What we need to remember is that he is relatively young and this is his first full season at this level. Before joining us he had only played a handful of games at Birmingham and a few more at Blackpool the year before that. I think he will become a consistent and decent player for us in the future. I don't personally think he was the poty but then no one was outstanding enough throughout the season to deserve to win it anyway. They should of scrapped it.
AND TO PUT QPRTED TOP POSTERS OF THE SEASON I THINK I CAN SAFELY SAY THAT FINGLASQPR IS IN FOURTH PLACE ELLERS IN THIRD PLACE SECOND IS WATFORD R AND FIRST IS QPR999 ITS A BRILLIANT TEAM OF POSTERS THAT WE ARE SEEING EMERGE HERE HOW YOUVE PUT UP WITH MY RAMBLINGS ON ABOUT WARNOCK ILL NEVER KNOW BUT AS A TEAM OF POSTERS WE HAVE COME SECOND IN OUR DIVISION WITH THE OTHER TEAMS NOT REALLY EVOLVING YET I EXPECT US TO DO WELL TO HOLD A TOP FIVE SPOT AGAINST THE TEAMS THAT ARE DROPING BUT WELL DONE ALL OF YOU AND IF I WAS GOING TO VOTE FOR A TOP MODERATOR BEARING IN MIND I POST ON MOST OF THE MESSAGE BOARDS THEN I WOULD GO FOR STANLEY ON THE watrbs AND IN SECOND POSITION I WOULD PUT QPR999 SO THATS SOME PERFORMANCE FROM OUR VERY OWN SUPERSTAR
The lack of replies on this thread for Player of the year doesn't surprise me after the exciting season QPR are having... please log in to view this image Oh well, if we can achieve a few steady seasons of mid table Championship mediocrity you could call that progress...
4th eh Ted???? The story of my life. Close but just out of the medals and very much no cigar. In truth, there are many brilliant posters here. I'll take your comments as a compliment so thanks very much.
Yeah not even a mention for my sterling merging work and creation of Ted's Threads. I'm hurt...I expect like Matty Phillips also feels when he did not get the POTY award
There are some things not worth attempting and to break into such a prestigious top 3 is one of them. I am happy just to potter around with the other plebs. I know how Matty Philips feels Beth.
Beth, I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for banging on about the merging of Teds threads being a bad idea when you started doing so. I have nothing against Ted or anyone but have to agree it was very good plan and works well I will keep my trap shut in future, again sorry Beth!
Absolutely ecstatic to come second in the extremely official poster of the year award. I will strive to go one better in 2017. Is anyone surprised Hall won? There were no other serious contenders. Personally I voted for Traore.
