Yeah but that still doesnt mean he played a part! Quite possibly the most invisible player Ive ever seen play for us.
Scored the only goal at Doncaster. On the whole, no great loss but could have probably been treated a bit better by the Club - they should just release him if he wants a move.
I wish him well in what he wants to do, or where he wants to play BUT without sounding too cynical.....I'm sure the blow of not playing is lessened somewhat when he takes home the equivalant of a years wages for most of us every month.
this! also he was on loan at Bristol city (local to me) the guys i know who go and watch said he wasnt anything special. The truth is just not good enough. I read an article from a manager who said "I dont mind if a player knocks on my door and moans about not playing. it shows he cares" .Rednapp?
Indeed. I don't have a single shred of sympathy for any of them. He should be thanking the Club morning, noon and night for paying him a fortune for doing nothing.
There's little Hogan could do to engineer himself a move, IMO. A comparison with Mackie just doesn't work; Mackie was a first-team squad player who would have played a role on match days, and was already on the radar of a number of clubs due to his performances in the Ch and PL. In contrast, Hogan is another 'forgotten man' who has absolutely no leverage with which to engineer a transfer, particularly as there's no a queue of suitors waiting to sign him. Was never really up to the Ch anyway, let alone the PL.
