QPR owner Tony Fernandes has backed Neil Warnock on Twitter. The Caterham F1 boss had been rumoured to be unwilling to give the manager any money for transfers in January. However the 47-year-old has taken to the popular social networking site to deny these claims. Friday, January 6, 2012 10:05 AM Tony Fernandes has taken to Twitter to defend manager Neil Warnock âGuys at QPR. There is no freeze of cash,â he tweeted. âDonât listen to ambiguous press reports. We are disappointed where we are in the league. This is a journey not s sprint. âAlong the way we learn. But we continue to develop and along the way hard decisions need to be made. âBut we never stop moving. Never.â http://www.london24.com/sport/championship/qpr_2_5433/qpr_owner_tony_fernandes_responds_to_neil_warnock_rumours_1_1170302
Now he's tweeted this.. I will leave no stone unturned to make qpr a success. But if I fail I have to go. I will give it 150% effort. Well I hope that he's not talking about any time soon, even if we're relegated. But I suppose Amit would just step up?
Hmmm, don't like the sound of that! Hopefully he's just being rhetorical, rather than paving the way for an early exit... I think/hope Amit would step up if this were to happen, but would rather TF stays and not have to find out either way!
Is it me or did our Tony not sound he usual upbeat self this morning? These will be challenging times for him as to date his career and business activities have only gone in one direction and been hugely successful, but I've no doubt he will get it right at QPR. One thing that did concern me a little was that we are looking for 'a couple' = 2 of players in the transfer window.
if you invested X millions of pounds into a business venture, surely you would give it longer than 12 to 18 months to get your cash back? TF is here for a while longer yet
“Don’t listen to ambiguous press reports. We are disappointed where we are in the league. This is a journey not s sprint." “Along the way we learn. But we continue to develop and along the way hard decisions need to be made." Reading between the lines, he's saying NW has done a **** job so far and he'll sack him if he has to.
He may be worried that the fans will turn on him if we get relegated. I'm sure they won't. He may have to toughen his skin a little (Ashley did, and look what Newcastle are doing) but I can't see he's put a foot wrong so far.
If you bought shares on the stock market and the value halves in a short period of time, do you wait until it rebounds (which may never happen) or do you cut your losses and move on? Experienced investors do the latter apparently.
I would not read too much in between the lines. Take Fernandes' positive comments at face value and continue to enjoy the journey! Let us remember that most intelligent QPR fans expected to be in the bottom 3 at Christmas. We are one step better than that and there is some platform to move upwards from.
If Macheda (alone or in combination with Heider, Adel etc) bangs them in and the other is, say, Samba. That might just about be enough!?
I do not think TF will be leaving QPR anytime soon I think that is a general thing that you hear from all businessman, that if you fail you would go. This guy is a winner and i think people read too much into it.
Hmmm, I don't see anything specifically defending Warnock in these comments. He's just saying that money is available to spend on players. I probably shouldn't read too much into it but it worries the hell out of me that the seemingly perfect owner is already talking about quitting after less than 6 months.

RTID- Please dont mention the 'lone striker' again!...If I have to see HH struggling up top on his own for the next 10 games,I will definately cry!. Samba would be a good buy,but Macheda (hope Im proved wrong) just doesnt seem right. Samba/Yakubu/ Bridge...then we might have a slim chance.
I feel for the guy. Things haven't gone to plan. And it started so well. He said it himself, it's disappointing where we are and now we have to spend our way out of trouble, probably more than he would have wanted. But it's still early days. I think his future at the club is much more certain than warnocks.
What concerns me is his intent to stand down if results don't improve. Bit unusual for an owner to fall on his sword over results. Cynical me thinks he's already planning his exit strategy. Sounds like some panicking going on behind closed doors.
IMO TF is using the spotlight very well as its great publicity for him his businesses and his ego ... We are a vehicle never forget that but enjoy the ride any backer from any club can become pissed off at anytime and we won't care if he loses money if he does. The goons saved us and we have them to thank yet we slag them off... Football clubs are play things for the rich I hope we stay QPR at all costs whatever division we play in Remember TF wants us to be massive abroad in Asia ... Its a worldwide thing In Merida Mexico you can buy QPR shirts ... I have seen a few Top six club shirts being worn by Mexicans the fact that we have shirts here says it all Wise up lads it's a business so open your horizons ... Taxi driver the other day even mentioned Barton ... The world is watching QPR for sure same in Dubai last month so It's working for TF and he knows it It's about your profile in the worldwide marketplace not a market in a place in the world called Shepards Bush Wise up my friends
