QPR on brink of Serie A coup QPR on brink of Serie A coup Inter Milan striker Ishak Belfodil (Reuters) by Richard Flynn 22nd January 2014 1:39pm GMT Queens Park Rangers are on the verge of completing the loan signing of Inter Milan striker Ishak Belfodil, according to reports in Italy. The hitman had been on West Ham United's radar but QPR have seemingly won the race. Source Tutto Mercato Web claims that the Championship outfit held successful talks with Inter and Parma, who co-own the player alongside the San Siro giants. Parma have given the deal the green light and Inter are set to follow suit, with the 22-year-old telling directors that he favours the move to London over a proposed permanent switch to Serie A team Sassuolo, who had lined up a £7million offer. Reports in Italy suggest Belfodil has already cleared out his belongings from the club and is on his way to Loftus Road to seal the deal, which is expected to be confirmed imminently. The Algerian forward has made eight appearances so far this term, but is yet to find the net â a trend QPR boss Harry Redknapp will be anxious to change.
Why sb ?? Did Macheda play in a quality Seria A team as well ? Was he more successful ?? Should we (possibly) be concerned at getting another white elephant ?? (All serious questions mate, I know nothing about Belfodil...and after a while wanted to know nothing about Macheda)
No hard reason Stainsey, but I have lots of mates in Milan who are totally unmoved by him (mind you, I am firmly on the AC Milan side of that city...the workers team you will be glad to hear, ignoring Berlusconi of course....) and 0 goals from 8 games for a striker.........I reckon he is lined up to replace Chevanton, i.e. sit on the bench if he is lucky. The £7m bid from Sassuolo is fantasy reporting. I'd be happy with getting someone in on loan to provide backup to Charlie for the rest of the season in principle though, much better than a panic buy.
QPR on brink of Serie A coup You got me all excited, Kiwi. I thought that we were going to join the ranks of the Italian top flight. Bit expensive for away games. If only the club had access to a few aeroplanes for fans to travel on the cheap.
Unfortunate turn of phrase referring to him as a "hitman".........when 0 goals in 8 games would suggest something else.
Perhaps he's one of these? Could help shift a few players off our books? Could walk Rosie? Be Harry's Bagman? please log in to view this image
Oh well. That's another Thursday wasted. Can we all now go back to living our lives again until next Thursday. So apparently we are on the verge of signing Ntep, Belfodil, Rhodes, Donaldson except that nobody's told them yet. Wake me up when one of them is signed.
