Given that @Stroller and myself missed the deadline to vote in the official poll, here’s another chance. @QPR Oslo you only get one vote despite the outstanding brilliance of every single member of our squad. @Hammersmith reborn, despite the epic crapness of the entire squad, one must be a bit less **** than the others, surely….. The site only allows 9 possible choices. If I have missed your choice out let me know and I will substitute for anyone who has not had any votes. Mind you, it was a ****ing struggle to find 9 players who someone might possibly want to vote for…… I voted Dieng because his time between the sticks (nod to Ubes) coincided when we were winning games, and now I’ve seen some other keepers I think he really is a prospect.
Outstanding brilliance of everyone? Well sorry not by a long way. Maybe you should do a poll with the worst Player of the Season who have played a minimum of say10 games. I'll kick it off with Thomas. Or the most over-rated Player of the Season- I give you Dunne, he's all right but not that much more, or MaCallum maybe.
Now you have lost it Os ffs, are yiu saying McCallum has been as good as Dunne this season ? Don't do a poll for worst player ffs as I only get 1 vote
Most overrated Player this season has been Dickie, first 5 games of the season he looked like Bobby Moore , the rest of the season he looked like Bobby Ball !
Much of our success up to the end of January was down to the quality of Willock, there's really no one that has contributed as much and his absence underlines that. Honourable mentions for Dieng, Dunne and Field but everyone else has been inconsistent or downright poor especially in our nosedive...
I am giving Willock my vote. He has entertained, improved, battled, scored, played out of position for the team. Honourable mentions for Dunne (come in and done well, later performances waned, but great prospect - important season for him next year); Field (come back from injury and worked hard, be great to give him some creative support from another midfield grafter - would do well to reign back the yellow cards but still challenge opposition players); Dieng (continued his role as #1 and instilling some necessary confidence at the back while there). Be interesting to see of they’re still with us next season. Disappointing for me have been Dickie (a player who stood out last year and who we were looking forward to driving on this season, shining light at the start of the season, then fell back alarmingly in what should have been a stand-out season for him) and Dykes (having stepped up to the EFL this should have been the season he really began making an impact and scoring goals for his team, aiming to be top scorer by a distance; grafter around the front line but hasn’t hit the net nearly enough. I’m not sure it’s there.).
Players like Field just don't get the recognition they deserve imo. Field is a proper player imo. A bit of a Faurlin type, but not at that level yet obviously. They do the dirty work which often gets overlooked by fans, who naturally notice players like Willock more. Willock is a worthy winner though, no doubt.
No. I was saying they are both a bit over-rated imo. Dunne is Good not Great for me. MaCallum usually disappoints especially recently, but maybe that's his injuries bothering him still.
Hard to decide, it probably should be Willock but I went Field given that he's played nearly every game and the likes of Willock can't do what they do without him doing the donkey work.
I want Dunne and Field here next season. Hard to decide. So went Field... although Dom Ball is not as bad as people make out. Field keeps him out the team by a country mile
Dunne has been excellent this season and certainly surpassed my expectations of him. Dickie had a great start but has looked pretty average at best. Most over rated player would have to be johanson as i never rated Thomas anyway
Suppose it depends how you rated them prior to the season. I had not seen either play consistently before.
