Defeat leaves the Rs bottom of the Premier League and five points adrift of safety but Hughes is keen to keep spirits up. âItâs difficult for everyone at the moment, but weâve just got to be really strong and get through this period," he told the club's official wesbite. âOther teams will have periods where it doesnât quite go right for them, but itâs up to us to be strong and understand that we have to make it happen â and we will do.â The 49-year-old was keen to highlight his team's improved defensive performance, but admitted they are currently struggling to score goals. âIt was a shame for the guys at the back. I thought they were magnificent today. They stood up to the challenge really, really well," Hughes continued. "In terms of our play and passing and movement, I thought we were good in that respect. But we created chances that you have to take at Premier League level.â
