QPR must 'be strong' after Stoke defeat, says Hughes
The west London side are five points adrift of Premier League safety after their 1-0 loss to the Potters on Saturday, but the Welshman is hoping to keep morale high

The west London side arguably controlled proceedings against the Potters but lost out on a share of the points thanks to a Charlie Adam strike in the 52nd minute.

Defeat leaves the Rs bottom of the Premier League and five points adrift of safety but Hughes is keen to keep spirits up.
“It’s difficult for everyone at the moment, but we’ve just got to be really strong and get through this period," he told the club's official wesbite.

“Other teams will have periods where it doesn’t quite go right for them, but it’s up to us to be strong and understand that we have to make it happen – and we will do.”

The 49-year-old was keen to highlight his team's improved defensive performance, but admitted they are currently struggling to score goals.

“It was a shame for the guys at the back. I thought they were magnificent today. They stood up to the challenge really, really well," Hughes continued.

"In terms of our play and passing and movement, I thought we were good in that respect. But we created chances that you have to take at Premier League level.”
