It’s a scenario Rangers dare not contemplate, but Henry said: “It is ridiculously hard to get back to the Premier League and the club did so well under Harry Redknapp to bounce straight back at the first attempt. “I think there is a big gulf between the two leagues. The mentality is so different when you are promoted. The standard of success changes. But then when you get to the Premier League you hope to win 25 per cent to stay up. “That is a weird shift in your mentality because as players you are winners. But the reality is that you might lose two-thirds of your games. And yet if you stay up with that record, everyone is happy and cheering!” Henry’s contract expires this summer and he added: “I have an option to extend so hopefully I will be here next season. “I am thoroughly enjoying London. Let’s hope we can have a good end to the season and then I will sit down with the powers that be to discuss the future.”
Fair play to you Kiwi for discovering these articles. Some of us lads 12,000 miles closer can't discover these things. PS. Wellington is the nicest city in NZ. Not sure where you live.
Good man. Was there in 2009. Loved Wellington. Arrived there 6th February (NZ National Day - Waitangi Day), airline lost bags, because of Wellington rugby 7;s had to stay in Masterton. Loved it there.
Not wishing to detract from the OP, but as it has already done so.... I thought that Auckland was the place to be down that way?
If I may interrupt the NZ love in, at least Henry backs up his words with effort. He knows he is not a huge flair player but just gets on and grinds away at his role. One of the most consistent players this season. It would be great to see him rewarded with a goal from one of his thunderbolt strikes.
He's certainly one of the few who has consistently played to his potential, but I hate the concept of ''we're entitled to make mistakes and play poorly". **** off, you're not, unless I'm entitled to my money back every time you do. And there might be a gulf between the Championship and the Premier League, but the vast majority of our players (can only think Phillips, Austin and more recently the kids as exceptions) have premiership and/or top league/World Cup experience. It shouldn't have been a surprise to them.
