QPR midfielder in no rush to discuss new deal Niko Kranjcar opened the scoring for QPR at Portman Road on Saturday afternoon. Niko Kranjcar opened the scoring for QPR at Portman Road on Saturday afternoon. Ian CooperThursday, January 16, 2014 9:00 AM QPR midfielder Niko Kranjcar says he will wait until the end of the season before discussing his future with Harry Redknapp. . .. Kranjcar is at Loftus Road on a season-long loan from Dynamo Kiev, and scored his second Rangers goal in the 3-1 win over Ipswich Town last weekend. Rs manager Redknapp has already hinted that he could seek to make the Croatia internationalâs deal permanent, but Kranjcar (pictured, left) is in no rush to make a decision. âWeâre focused on promotion. Once that is sorted out we will sit down and talk,â said Kranjcar. âMy main goal is to get into the Premier League with QPR. Weâll talk about it at the end of the season, but Iâm very happy here.â Kranjcar opened the scoring at Portman Road as QPR got their promotion bid back on track following a disappointing run of results over Christmas, when they were beaten by Leicester City and Nottingham Forest and held to a draw by Watford. But victory in East Anglia ensured that Rangers stay third in the Championship, just one point behind Burnley and five behind league leaders Leicester City. Kranjcar believes they have rediscovered the momentum they had earlier in the season. He added: âIt was important after winning at home against Doncaster, when we ground them down in the last minute, to follow it with a win at Ipswich. âItâs a massive three points for us and we have to build on it. We have the quality. We were disappointed with the performances last month, we did not perform to our standard. âBut it is slowly coming back and we have to keep on getting these results. I believe we have the quality in the team to win away from home.â
I've heard that Besiktas and their manager and fellow Croatian are trying to snatch Kranjcar away from his loan deal with us.
good, don't give him one, notice how this has come out after one good game in 15? the last thing we need is another thirty something coming here for one last pay day, a fat unfit one at that.
This. Obviously this could be just paper talk, but whats the fuss about new contract for a player who has played just three or four good matches for us.
and thats in the championship, theres no way we should look at him if we go up because hes going to be even worse then. I would hope we hold off on all contracts until we know which division we are in.
Flyer, wasn't it you complaining about having sooooo many players out of contract by the end of this season - now your agreeing with Harry ??
I was complaining about having to replace players every year because they are so old. we shouldn't have signed them in the first place meaning they won't need to be replaced. most of the squad are short term solutions.
