Frankie Sutherland in action for AFC Wimbledon
QPR youngster Frankie Sutherland hopes he has proven he can handle the rigours of first-team football following a successful loan stint at AFC Wimbledon.
The R’s midfielder spent a productive couple of months with Neal Ardley’s side and even got a taste of FA Cup magic as signed off with an appearance against Liverpool.
Having been with the Don over the notoriously busy festive period, Sutherland hopes he has shown Harry Redknapp what he is capable of achieving at Loftus Road.
“I really enjoyed my time at Wimbledon,” he told the club’s official website.
“I’ve had two disappointing loan spells where they’ve had to be cut short through injury, so it was nice to get some games under my belt.
. I really enjoyed it and wish them all the best.
“Knowing now that I can play Saturday and Tuesday, and having done so, I do really want to push on.
“When you go down to the lower leagues you realise how lucky you are to be at a club like QPR, with good facilities and fantastic staff looking after you.
“I really want to push on this year and make it a good one.”
Sutherland returned to action in a QPR shirt when he played for the U21s in their 2-0 defeat to Cardiff City on Tuesday.

Extremely frustrating that Harry is not prepared to give guys like Sutherland a chance, even in cup games.

Sounds like a sitcom - Christmas with the Corleones.

I'd be surprised if Sutherland doesn't follow our youth route - loan followed by contract termination - just by virtue of the fact that the development stops at the reserves and the first team seems to be separated by some impassable force field.
