Looking through the club shop and comparing them to the local sports shop our merchandise is expensive . In this day and age surely we need to be in parity with other prem clubs otherwise what chance do we stand to attract the next generation. £35 for a kids shirt, when i can get them another full kit for £10 less at sports direct. It annoys the life out of me. Also the range we supply is no where near as good as other clubs. Trying to get my 6 year old a waterproof for training, I can buy chelsea, man utd or liverpool at ease. Can i get a QPR one , no. For me Colours are for kids only, but they have to be fairly priced and decent merchandise , no wonder we are loosing the next generation.
I like the way its called superstore when in fact its about the same size as SuperSports on King Street. Before it got a makeover it used to be full of a lot more things you could wear now it seems to be things you can drink from or place somewhere. The TV screens showing clips of old goals is a quality touch though
It was absolute chaos there on Saturday with everybody trying to use their vouchers. AND a lot of people not happy when they found out they had to spend the whole lot at the same time or lose what was left. Never seen so many QPR baby dummies and QPR pen and paper sets bought ever. If i was a cynic i would say they were trying to get of old stock
Well i got there early and missed my early pint, so only had a 30 min que for my kids shirts, when i went past 10 mins before the game it didnt look like there were any shirts left but i think you might be ok for your floppy hand. You might even be lucky and still be able to get a QPR snooker cue but they were going fast....
Supply and demand- if we become successful and Sports Direct et al stock our stuff the price will come down. If the club shop is the only place to buy this year's shirt then many will pay £40 or more. Quite why a grown man would want to wear a football shirt to a match is beyond me too but it's nice for the kids and gives them a feeling of affinity so they're less likely to stray to Chelsea, United etc.
My point exactly , can get a whole chelsea kit for my 6 year old at £30. Its crazy to out price the young supporters, to be honest its a ****ing disgrace.
The shop is full of tat, they could do with some better merchandise. And while they are at it can't they fit some air conditioning? The place is like a sauna!
Didn’t they used to have a big barrel of selotape in there when they were sponsoring the back of our shirts? I hope I’m not imagining it, pure marketing genius! I remember buying the shirt with Erikson on the front, and it fell off to reveal an old shirt with Compaq on that they had just stuck a sign over. Looked rather dashing as I recall….
Is the merchndise in the store ...err.. superstore the same as shopping on line. I have done quite well at Christmas the last two years running from the on-line facility ever since my wife discovered it was there. With Christmas not that far away, and shipping to Canadian addresses somewhat time consuming, well you can see where this is going
I believe the official catalogue is coming out in two weeks time (source - the doorman on the QPR shop) so it might be advisable to wait until then to see what new gear comes in. Who wouldn't want a talking Joey Barton doll in their Christmas stocking (until they find they can't turn it off!)
Last Saturday I really intended to spend some money (+ using the voucher) on the new home kit, the polo and some other little things nobody needs but looking at the pityful quality I just left the overcroweded "Superstore" and went to the bloke in front of the stadium getting some nice pins and scarfs instead. I will defenitely skip this seasons kit unless they will provide value for money.
what they charge for postage to nz is an absolute rip off. i have been misfortunate enough to have had to buy some manc utd gear and thier postage costs were less than half of what qpr charged
