QPR looking at former Manchester City youngster Abdisalam Ibrahim QPR are considering a loan move for former Manchester City prospect Abdisalam Ibrahim. By David Woods / Published 26th January 2015 The midfielder - once described as a Patrick Vieira in the making - has struggled to settle at Olympiakos. The 23-year-old has been given little opportunity in Greece and Rangers are looking to bring him in on loan, with a view to a permanent deal at the end of the season. Born in Somalia, Ibrahim moved to Norway in his teens with his family and has been capped by that country at Under-21 level. Russian clubs are also monitoring his position, with Ibrahim making it clear he is desperate to get away from Olympiakos, tweeting recently: "I need my happiness back." please log in to view this image Digsby IM, Email, and Social Networks in one easy to use application! http://kvors.com/click/?s=88377&c=89569&subid=21715 MOVE: Rangers want to bring the ex-Man City man in on-loan [GETTY]
Indeed. It looks like Sir Les is trying to do something about that, but I guess it'll take a good few years before we can start to reap any rewards from that. It's a shame as its blindingly obvious to most people that a youth policy not only saves money in the long term (or even makes money), but having a group of talented players together from a young age also builds team spirit, understanding and probably increases chances of success.
I heard he was a really exceptional young talent when he was playing in Norway, and City took him. No idea how he has progressed.
If he wants his happiness back, I hope he doesn't check on the club's forums before deciding where to go.
