Top form: Robert Green produced a string of fine saves to keep Wigan at bay

Uwe Rosler reckons England’s manager would do worse than take a second look at QPR’s keeper.

Rob Green was the proverbial monkey on a stick to keep Wigan boss Rosler and his team at bay as Rs squeaked home 1-0.

The Rs shot stopper saved the best until last when he clawed out a powerful header from Nicky Maynard and preserve his clean sheet.

On the strength of what he saw, Roy Hodgson could do worse than give Green another go, although the former Brentford manager still reckons Latics were hard done by.

“Everybody in the stadium saw we should have got something out of the game,” Rosler said.

“The QPR goalkeeper was man of the match and Roy should have a look at him.”

A sentiment echoed by Hoops assistant manager Kevin Bond as reflected on a vital win.

“He’s (Green) been so dependable – and you come to expect that from him.

“But Wigan are a good side. We started brightly and got the goal we needed and it was a very good game of football.”

Burnley look like they may catch you lot, especially if they beat you on Saturday.

He's had a good season all in all, but if selected for England it would just show what a parlous state English goalkeeping, once a real strength, is in. Joe Corrigan has just been on the wireless. Remember when we had him, Phil Parkes, Ray Clemence and Peter Shilton to choose from?

And they may well do... Couldn't care less who wins the league, as most of us have said all along.

13 points clear of 3rd place, with a game in hand... That'll do me nicely <ok>

Is your manager fit enough for the run in and next season? Chest pains are not a good sign.......

Seems so, been released from hospital and he was capable of leading the team last night.

He was in hopsital for the same problem whilst he was at Hull, too. Not entirely sure what it is, but I'm sure he wouldn't have been released and allowed to be at the game last night if it was anything serious.

He had a great game but overall hes had a very poor season.

If he played like he played every other game, wed have conceded at least 3.

Well, good luck to him. He has a stressful job which he is obviously doing very well at the moment.
