The mighty Loft: QPR fans watch the draw against Reading
The buck stops with QPR players if they want more support from fans, according to Alex Smithies.

Rs chief executive Lee Hoos asked the Loftus Road faithful to ramp up the volume on match-days last week with a 'make some noise' campaign.

The main response has been an acid demand for better football to get supporters to loosen their vocal chords.

Keeper Smithies is closer than most to the throng and feels criticism, indirectly or otherwise, may be harsh.

“When you are playing well, winning games and scoring lots of goals there is always going to be a loud atmosphere,” he said.

Your club needs you: Sebastian Polter points the finger
“We have not been able to do that consistently enough to get people through the gates and make that level of noise. If we can get onto a bit of a run that might change.

“But for me I’m obviously stood close the fans during the game and I hear their noise.

"So it might be a little bit harsh to say they are not making noise because I certainly hear it.”

If Rangers fans are pressing the mute button it’s understandable given their only home win came on the opening day of the campaign in August with Hoops scoring just three times since.

    Loud: Alex Smithies
Saturday's draw with Reading was a lost opportunity to build on the feel-good factor of a derby win against Fulham prior to the international break.

Smithies knows they can ill afford to pass up another chance against Bristol City on Tuesday.

“Off the back of the last game and winning in dramatic style at Fulham we hoped to go into the next game and kick on from there, but that was not to be,” he added.

“We are not losing many games in recent matches, so that is a positive, but we need to start turning draws into wins.”

Maybe it's our new all purpose 40,000 (that could be expanded) seater stadium being built

I think it's an extension to Westfield. Because if there is one thing this country lacks, it's shops. Obviously.

Get rid of the seats in the Loft
    Sack JFH

I might make some noise then, a screaming jolly old noise in delight in nostalgia of the good days when the Loft would come alive
