Skysports.com understands that Queens Park Rangers are keen to land England international Jay Bothroyd.

The 28-year-old striker is available on a free transfer after he opted to leave Cardiff City at the end of last season when his contract expired.

Bothroyd, who has confirmed he could not join Cardiff's rivals Swansea, is attracting attention from a number of clubs in both the Premier League and Championship.

Skysports.com now understand that one of those hoping to land his signature is newly promoted QPR.

The likes of Everton and Celtic have been closely linked with the former Wolves man in recent weeks.

Could well happen, spent all his spare time home in London so its clear where is heart is. However with Bothroyd its all about the £££££££'s

Everton want him as well but if you were to offer more £'s you would have a good chance of getting him with the lure of London.

Oh, also you need a manager who will massage his ego and tell him he's the best thing since sliced bread on a daily basis or else he will sulk for the entire length of his contract. Something tells me thats not likely to happen with Warnock, wumming aside im not joking about this, Bothroyd needs to be made to feel like top dog otherwise you get a sulking puppy.

Sorry, that was a facetious reponse to being linked with (yet) another player.

I think he'd be a great addition. Very capable player (when he's in the right frame of mind) and think NW would work his magic. As you say, unlikely we're the best offer he'd get.

I will hold my breath Northolt. For the time being I am quite enjoying the lack of interest being shown in Bothroyd, that England cap was from Cardiffs point of view the worst thing that could have happened to him. He was crap from then on in.

Trust me cityace, warnock can massage his ego. When he was trying to sign Taarabt, he told him he would make him the best player in the world

Congrats Swords and CityAce! Split my sides and made my day with that bit of volley and return.

Not sure where the borderline between wumming and comical irreverence lays but you guys just found it!

As for Bothroyd, hear what you're saying Ace, he's a wannabe sports car with ignition problems. But if a deal was possible I think strikerless Rangers would both appreciate him and sort some of the problems out. Wouldn't mind the chance to see him and Taarabt scoring goals like the ones they scored in Cardiff again.

It also means you will get Lisa Snowdon at the home games, he's been banging her for the last few months. In fact as a coincidence he started to lose form about the time they got together, hmmmmmm.

Quality player, always looked the business against us.

Dunno where this 'crap for us' rubbish comes from the Cardiff fans. He was easily their best player in the 2-2 at Wales. Sour grapes me thinks :)

I know -twins, far too nice for this place but then again both CityAce and his downer on Bothroyd both sound a lot more encouraging than the geriatric Italian 'prospects' I've just been reading about...

Evening Brixton, I'd be pleased to get him, reckon he's a better player than Graham, once Warnock works his magic on the boys confidence. As for Ambrose and 34yr old Ities<grr>
