QPR And Everton Join The Battle For Tottenham Defender Posted On Friday, December 2, 2011Tags: Everton News, Everton Transfer News, Qpr News, Qpr Transfer News Everton and QPR have joined Serie A side Roma in the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur Defender Verdran Corluka in January. Following the emergence of Kyle Walker, the 25-year-old Croat has found his chances limited this season and its thought that the defender is becoming increasingly frustrated, making only three Premier League appearances this season, he feels he needs to move in order to maintain his presence in the Croatian national side. With Euro 2012 only six months away, its thought that national coach Slaven Bilic has instructed Corluka to find another club that can guarantee him first-team football otherwise his inclusion in Croatia’s Euro team looks in doubt but with reported interest from Everton and QPR the defender could soon get his wish, as Harry Redknapp is reportedly willing to sell the player. Corluka could be off-loaded for a fee of around £5 million having only 18 months left on his current contract, though any Premier League interest will have to compete with Roma who are favourites to land the player.
