Well we play in the same colours anyway......sort of.. so; the Olympics.... with also the pro and anti posts and debates, what do we/all think of them then...? Understand the economic effects both positive and negative...but whats thhe overall opinion Personally I'm loving the events but gutted at the coverage. Aussie commentators are such biased wan***s thats it must be embarrassing for the average Australian. E.G. When a British team loses an event, out coms say we lost to a better team, when Oz lose to an event (esp against GB) its because we cheated, "loaded the boat", pumped million into our sport , blah bl;ah blah What ever happened to saying, "well done to our lads but we were beaten by the better team on the day"?...oh yeah..forgot..thats just an English thing! Love the Olympices but really hate the ****e coverage and comentry over here...and yes Swords..thats bad manners but also a fact ! Just waiting for Jessica to do it for us...already done for me !! Keep the faith brothers...come on team GB!!
Im loving the olympics queens! Coverage over here is great with 24 dedicated olympic channels allowing us to pick and choose what we want to watch. I have been so Judo and Handball so far an both were amazing, the atmosphere is unreal. Just a shame re the tickets problems and empty seats. I sit at home watching some events thinking I am desperate to go to them, and there are literally thousands of empty seats. Its gutting. But defiantley enjoying the games, with a couple of football matches at Wembley left for us to go to - my first game there! Trying hard to pick up some more tickets if we can. GB have had a tough week in the judo, but two medals to the end of the week has lifted spirits! Our first judo medals since Kate Howey in 2000!
That's one thing I do admire and feel proud of in this county, we can be the most passionate and partisan of fans, but we will also cheer and embrace anyone who wins. It's obviously great when your country wins, but the olympics is about individuals who dedicate their lives for this moment, and no matter what country they are from they deserve support and admiration, and we are only to happy to provide it. This is probably why every athlete seems to be saying this is a great olympics. The Aussies can go **** themselves. 100 years ago they had the aborigines in concentration camps, but as soon as one stands a chance of a medal it's go team auz. The commentary here is sh*t. We're absolutely crap at these games but every event we're a chance even though we're getting walloped. Eg. Rowing.

Mmm. With my historical head on, I have to counter balance that with the fact that the British Empire also did untold good around the World. We can all look back into past centuries, where things were far more brutal and find stuff we don't like! During the times of Empire, all nations were barbaric by today's standards!!

Back to the Olympics, I'm loving how proud the British athletes are at taking part in front of their home crowd. It's fantastic to watch and team GB are really doing well now!!
No mate I am ****ing pissed at the attitude of some on here and I will have my pound of flesh with anyone! I am not being told to discuss football because this is what this forum is about. Plus the comment made is exactly why people get upset when someone uses a term disrespectful i expect them to mean it. Don't even attempt to tell me what is low ... Agree. Most of the player athletes seem overcome with emotion but are using the support to spur them on. They're standing up and being counted - wish the national football team could apply themselves as well.

And you are dead right Dave. Most amazing thing I seen this Olympics was when I turned it on this morning and the picture showed a Soth African about to run a sprint heat 400 meters I think. The guy had 2 protese (spelling ?) for legs, and I'm thinking Ok, Handicapped games must have already started but no, all the other runners seemed to be without any handicap! The Guy with the 2 protese not only ran an Olympic event but came 2nd! He was cruising as well, absolutely brilliant!!
