Not quite, according to our predictions. Where will your side finish in 2012-13? With the season just one week away, our pundits have put our heads together to give you a comprehensive set of predictions. Opinions and analysis on all 20 Premier League clubs are given here by 12 of our writers and pundits here at HITC Sport. On the basis of the predictions from our 'daring dozen' we have calculated how the table will look come next May. How does it work? All the predictions are totalled together, the team with the lowest score will finish 1st, and the highest will finish 20th. Here are the predictions for your club. Verdict - QPR will finish in: 13th Highest prediction: 9th, Lowest prediction: 17th. Dan Coombs: 10th; QPR have bought well this summer, and expectations will be high. A top 10 finish will be a realistic target, and it is one we expect them to achieve. Park Ji-Sung is an excellent signing, while up front expect Djibril Cisse to continue his lethal form. The pressure will be on Mark Hughes, who led Fulham to an eighth place finish two seasons ago, but expect him to do it. A top half finish should be easily within his grasp. Vic Daniels: 15th; No relegation dogfight, but no big return for Fernandes' millions either. Mark Hughes continues to look like a man under pressure. Mathew Nash: 11th; Star Player â Park Ji-Sung. Top Scorer â Djibril Cisse. A lot of incoming players this season but getting them to gel quickly wonât be easy, but QPR will be happy with 11th place. Can see them picking up many a scalp with an injury free Park Ji-Sung starring in his new role. Junior Hoilett should carry on where he left off and find goals easy to come by in this side. Will just miss out to Sunderland however in the race for the top half. Tomo Taka: 12th; With many of the relegation-elect teams, their survival will often pivot on the experience of their manager to galvanise a team. Mark Hughes is a good manager and will do what he did with Fulham in his one season there. Above all he will steer QPR well away from the relegation places. The addition of Ji-Sung Park will markedly improve the squad and his presence as a hard-working but highly effective player will influence others on the pitch. Junior Hoilett is similarly another exciting addition. Star player: Ji-Sung Park. Park was a well regarded and trusted player at United and Sir Alex Ferguson often played him in the big games for his efficacy. He will bring same ability and temperament to QPR. Challenge: Discipline. Cisse and Barton were each sent off twice last season costing them games. Barton has a lengthy ban but are QPRâs disciplinary problems a pandemic at the club? Jake Lane: 15th; Many will be expecting QPR to finish well in the top half this season after all thee additions to their squad theyâve made this summer but too many cooks spoil the broth. Last seasonâs final-day survivors will have enough quality to not have to worry about going down this year but will be too overcrowded to achieve anything higher than fifteenth. Nigel Owen: 16th; Mark Hughes has worked hard to replace some of his aging squad with both better and younger players, but still keeping plenty of experience. Rob Green will take over between the sticks, Junior Hoilett and Ji Sung-Park will improve midfield options, despite Joey Barton's ban, and with Djibril Cisse, Andy Johnson, Bobby Zamora, and Jamie Mackie aiming to improve QPR's return of just 43 goals last season, Hughes will hope to not have to suffer the same nail-biting end to this season that he had last year. Djibril Cisse scored 6 goals in 8 games, and was sent off in the two games he didn't score in. If he can stay on the pitch, he will score the goals that keep QPR above the relegation trapdoor in their second season back in the top flight. Surya Solanki: 14th; QPR have made several summer signings, but like Chelsea, one would have to see how the new players will gel into the team. I have underrated them and can surely see them doing better than a 13th placed finish if the new players perform up to the mark. Paul Moore: 9th; After taking over from Neil Warnock Mark Hughes just done enough to keep the hoops up. The transfer market has been busy down at Loftus road with some great signings. I can see QPR's Cisse scoring more than Newcastles Cisse! QPR will win matches as they have a great midfield now. John Aggrey: 14th; The league is tough, Mark Hughes is a big name in the managerial world and having impressively saved QPR from relegation last season, a 14th finish would still be a welcome relief for this side of London. With players like Cisse, a level headed Barton and a reviving Taarabt among others, I believe itâs time QPR made itâs mark in the EPL as a regular. Their main star should be Cisse. Forget his record of either scoring or getting sent off- he should provide goals even in places goals donât seem to be coming. Biggest Challenge; getting more experience into the squad, dealing with the egos and what else; cementing their position in the league should be their main target. Naveenan Thanendra: 13th; Tony Fernandes has been nothing short of magnificent during his brief time as owner of QPR. His latest act has been to provide the financial resources to help Mark Hughes build a squad that should see QPR comfortably finish safe from the drop and ready to establish themselves as Premier League fixtures. The additions of Park Ji-Sung and Junior Hoilett gives them considerably more quality from midfield, which should aid Cisse, Johnson and Zamoraâs aspirations of scoring goals galore. Perhaps their best signing of the summer is Fabio Da Silva (on loan from Man Utd), who will address an area of need at left back. However, it is unlikely that QPR will finish any further up the league at this point as the centre backs at their disposal do not possess the necessary quality. Keval Shah: 13th; QPR have an abundance of strikers that should see them safe this season. With the distracting presence of Joey Barton no longer around the squad, Hughes can focus on building a side worthy of their premier league status. I anticipate Adel Taarabt to play a more pivotal role for rangers after a difficult first season in the Premier League, and expect him to link up well with new boy Park Ji-Sung. Tony Fernandes does not seem afraid to put his hand in his pocket, so expect a few more signings before the end of the transfer window. Khiam Barry: 10th; QPR will be better for the experience of last season in the Premier League and with the addition of Park Ji Sung from Manchester United, are adding proven quality and hard working players. Ryan Nelsen will add much needed experience to the QPR back four too. Andy Johnson and Cisse provide pace up front. QPR will look for consistency this season. Connor Jipps: 17th; It is hard to predict how Mark Hughes team will fare. Many have predicted a push for the top half of the table whilst others have predicted a painful crash back down to the Championship. Whatever happens you canât say they havenât given it a go. Chairman Tony Fernandes has shown his passion for the club and its future success by releasing funds for the former City boss to snap up experienced Premier League players that QPR feel can take the club on to the next level. Incoming faces include Ryan Nelsen, Rob Green, Andrew Johnson, Samba Diakite and Junior Hoilett, a mixture of pace, strength, experience and composure that at times were lacking from last years side, especially away from home. The most important signing of the lot though is former Man United utility man, Park Ji-Sung. The South Korean brings a winning attitude to a side lacking it, and his goals and assists will be vital in QPRâs battle to achieve a successful season. Linking up with Hoilett, Cisse, Zamora and Taarabt amongst other alternatives will provide QPR with a greater attacking output and add squad depth. With no key players leaving QPR find themselves in a strong position on paper. What worries me about QPR though is the amount of players in the squad over the age of 30. Whilst there is young talent such as Hoilett and Fabio, the likes of Nelsen, Johnson and Derry are now reaching ages where they will struggle to keep up with the physical demands of the Premier League. QPR fans should be excited but also cautious. I think itâll come down to the wire but I can see QPR just pipping Norwich to avoid the drop once again. Full predicted table: (1) Manchester City, (2) Manchester United, (3) Chelsea, (4) Arsenal, (5) Tottenham, (6) Liverpool, (7) Newcastle, (8) Everton, (9) Fulham, (10) Sunderland, (11) Aston Villa, (12) Stoke, (13) QPR, (14) Swansea, (15) West Ham, (16) West Brom, (17) Norwich, (18) Reading, (19) Wigan, (20) Southampton.
I dont think we are top 10 yet......missing a bit of depth and a quality CB.....im doing for 13th -15th this season with the current squad.
I'd like 10th but do feel absolutely confident that we will stay up comfortably and shock a few of the big teams this season.
Really hope our fans take a realistic approach to our coming season. To answer your question, NO. We have added plenty of experience to our team and squad but we are still light in two crucial areas, CM and CB. IMHO a realistic target would 14/13 and then try and build further next season.
Amazing how many pundits seem to be unaware of how significant a signing Diakite is. 12th place and a possible league cup win if draw is kind for me
Chaps, chaps, chaps! This season is still gona be a slog. The only thing I am sure of is no more 6 goal spankings. I didn't say I was sure did I?
Bearing in mind you scraped to survive last season, and you've continued to add players over the age of thirty (Granted Park, Hoilett and Fabio may be better) I don't see anyway in Hell of QPR finishing anywhere near the top 10.
Little chance with the current squad. Need 1, maybe 2 new CB`s, plus same for CDM, plus ideally a good Goalkeeper, a reserve target man and another back, to have a realistic chance of top 10.
I don't see why we can't get a top ten finish this year. We have probably strengthened more than most in the Premiership. One thing I am pretty certain of if we will finish above Naaarich
A very comfortable 11/14 place finish, with the likes of Norwich, west ham wigan southampton swansea & Reading, all finishing behind us.
Dangerous, I'm not sure if you're wumming or not, but just on case you're not, you have to remember that this year we will also have the best of last January's signings all year. Namely; Cisse, Diakete and Zamora. With those three, plus Park, Hoilett and Fabio, we have a much improved starting eleven compared for last year.
So many clubs over the years have had good/satisfactory first seasons in the Premiership and then fallen short in their second year. I'd be happy with staying up...thrilled if we go into the last month clearly safe, and anything else is just a massive bonus.
