QPR have confirmed they are engaged in discussions with the Korean FA regarding the availability of defender Yun Suk-young for their Championship play-off final clash with Derby County. Yun is part of South Korea's World Cup squad and, under FIFA rules, there is a "rest period" for players from May 19-25. The only exception to this rule is for players involved in the Champions League final, but there is no leeway for players involved in the Championship play-off final. Consequently, the decision on whether or not Yun will be available for QPR's Wembley date on May 24 is in the hands of the Korean FA. But QPR could face a battle on their hands to secure Yun's release according to quotes attributed to South Korea manager Hong Myung-bo by Korean news agency Yonhap. "If Yun reports to the camp late, then it could set a bad precedent," said Hong. "There's no shift to our stance that Yun must be here at the earliest date possible." QPR have already successfully appealed to the Croatian FA to secure Niko Kranjcar's availability for the game which could see them make an immediate return to the Premier League following last season's relegation. I guess he's hanging on in the hope that he's allowed to play. Crazy really, because he clearly is desperate to play for us, and by hanging on, he's not joining up with the SK squad because he would have needed to fly out Sunday for that. Let's hope common sense prevails and he can play in the biggest game of his life before jetting off and being a star in the biggest tournament in the world.
Yun is just starting to make some recompense for the disastrous spell his former national captain had with us and then this! I noticed the Loftus Road self-guided tours are still available in Korean. If there's no flexibility from their national squad for the sake of a single day then I suggest a subtle change to the voice over allowing them to fully understand our feelings on the subject.

Wow, Yun seems like he's ready to defy his country. He surely must be starting then, there's no way there'd be this much fuss over a sub.
Isn't this all academic if Harry has got BAE back? I'm not convinced that he's convinced by Yun. The Koreans will be well hacked off if they relent and then Redknapp does not even play him. Personally I hope that BAE has returned simply as a precaution in case Yun is not allowed to play but I don't see Redknapp choosing someone with so much promise over one of his tried and trusted.
Don't you think there will be some kind of arrangement between us and the Korean FA that he will only be used as a sub, therefore reduce the risk of him being injured...
