Maiga makes QPR move Queens Park Rangers, Last updated: 49 minutes ago Views: 42 QPR have completed a last-gasp swoop for striker Modibo Maiga from West Ham. Maiga makes QPR move The Mali international joins the R's on loan until the end of the season. Maiga told the club's official website: "It is an exciting new chapter for me. I am here to play games and score goals. "I am very, very grateful to Harry Redknapp for making this deal happen and I am looking forward to playing for QPR." Redknapp added: "He's a player who hasn't perhaps shown what he is capable of. With a bit of belief in him he could really take off." Maiga is QPR's fifth signing of a hectic transfer deadline day, joining Aaron Hughes, Guilherme Dellatorre, Kevin Doyle and Will Keane.
Was thinking about this man this morning. Didn't West Ham go through a phase of playing with no recognised striker? If my recollection is true then that is worrying since Sam didn't even play him then. However, he should be given a fair chance in the Hoops before we judge the man. Even if he only scores a few goals, that might make all the difference if we are still as tight with Burnley and some of the other chasers towards the end.
Willing to give these players a chance, a fresh start might just see them banging in the goals well we all hope so anyway. We have signed players before and though ohhh fuk no but actually was good signings, so let's keep positive.
My cousin's hubby is a West Ham ST holder and he says Maiga is a good player who couldn't fit in as the lone player up front. Maybe we can get the best out of him?
I was thinking that he is not a man for the 451 system like Wham play, so they haven't seen what he can do. Him and Doyle could well work.
I'm actually excited about this one. Ok, didn't have a good time at the mighty Hammers but look at his record before that?
They are here & get behind them, ok not ones some of us expected but I'll give them my support starting today.
Shame Harry seems to play more often than not with one up front . Lets hope he is reading the board and knows how to get the best out of the lad
We MAY see a change in tactics and formation. If BZ doesn't play and with Austin out the lone striker set up may not be an option. Whatever happens I think we have made sensible signings some which may have been rushed in the end by recent events but we asked for strikers and we got some. I think the injection of younger players could spur us onwards.
