QPR give Arsenal extra time over Remy transfer

This entry was posted in Arsenal News, Arsenal NewsNow, Arsenal rumours, Arsenal Transfer News and tagged Balotelli, Wenger on June 22, 2014 by Bob.

Maybe it is because it is the weekend, Arsenal fans, but I have got this funny feeling of optimism in me today. Having watched England crash out of the World Cup in an even worse style than usual, I can focus on the Arsenal for next season, and it seems that Arsene Wenger is ready to confound his critics.

The Frenchman, according to the general media reporting, looks like he is going to get busy in the transfer market. And what makes this even more surprising is that he seems set to do his deal early, or some of them at least. Considering that the Gunners may need to sign at least five quality players, the last thing we need is to leave them all until the end of the transfer window.

Centre forward, support striker, winger, defensive midfielder, centre back, right back and keeper are all positions that we may need, but if the Balotelli and Aurier rumours are true, two of those could soon be sorted. One of the players strongly linked with that second striker role, though, is Loic Remy, and it seems that Wenger has not quite made up his mind on that one yet.

So the news reported by Talksport that QPR are in no rush to sell the French striker is good for Arsenal. Ii also suggests to me that Remy is waiting for the Gunners and that Harry Redknapp knows this. Because there must be other teams keen on Remy who would happily meet the release clause which is thought to be no more than £10 million.

But why is Wenger waiting? Could he have someone else in mind?

I really hope and slightly think that Remy will be playing for us next season. Campbell suddenly "turning up" might just give Wenger another (and cheaper) option.
Remy sitting on the bench is not hurting our chances either.
