Hi all,. I hope that posting this here is fine - if not, Mods please feel free to delete it. That being said... I'll not beat around the bush: this is a blatant appeal for funds. Some friends of mine are currently at what should be the most joyful moment of their lives, the birth of their first child, a little boy called Teddy. However, this has been hit massively, with the news that Nina was diagnosed with cancer that meant an early and emergency c-section before treatment can start. They are looking to raise funds for treatment that isn't currently available on the NHS, but is vital because of the location of the cancer. Please can I ask people to take a few minutes to read their story at the link below, and, if you are able, give a little something towards their goal? We're doing lots of other fundraising activity, but I'm trying to spread the net as wide as possible to give them the best chance of reaching their target. Thanks for your patience and attention. Like wise, but please feel free to post the same thread on the Pompey board. I hope it all works out for you.
Donated. Similarly going through some tough times with a little baby, so know how hard it is, and glad to help even a little bit...
This story has really moved me. Donated and shared on my FB page. Wishing the family all the luck in the world and hope they can all be together at home soon enjoying their new family
Guys, just a quick note to let you know that the target was reached this morning! Nina's treatment can now start as soon as possible. The fund will remain open, as we want to make sure that she gets the best treatment, as soon as she needs it, but things are looking positive right now. Message from Ed (Nina's husband): We're so proud of everyone who has played a part in helping Nina raise over £30,000 in less than 2 weeks! Your support is keeping Nina strong and determined to kick cancer's ass, thank you! Please don't stop now! Keep sharing the love and her website to keep the funds coming in, so Nina can get the best possible treatment to make her better as quickly as possible. Adding my personal thanks - I really appreciate every single one that has helped out so far. Thanks guys... Chaz
