Neil Warnock wants to sign five players in January to help keep Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League.

The arrivals could come from Asia as the club look to build on their growing profile there following the takeover in August by Tony Fernandes.

The Malaysian businessman funded five arrivals at the end of the last transfer window and is ready to back his manager again with the club ninth in the table.

"They [the board] know we need some more players and they have been very supportive," said Warnock. "We are on the lookout for four or five.

"I'm not saying they're all going to be big-name signings but we need numbers in the squad. You could spend £10million on a striker and he will not play as well as Heidar Helguson on Saturday, so you have to be careful as a manager. By all means we want to improve the squad long-term, as well as the immediate concern."

Warnock has revealed that he went to see three players in action in a World Cup qualifier between United Arab Emirates and South Korea 11 days ago.

He added: "If we sign a few players from Asia it will definitely help QPR develop as a brand. By owning a Premier League club Tony has shot up in profile over there. This is the start of something and I feel the club can develop a global presence because of the owners and the contacts they have."

Not good. Maybe in a few years, but for now we must only buy proven Prem players who still feel they have a point to prove.
Players who are looking to feature in Euro 2012 but aren't getting regular football, would be ideal to give us the best chance of staying up.

Apparently one of the Koreans we're targeting is Yu Pak ****. Not sure if he's any under pressure though.

I have some Norwich posters to speak to after they mocked my 'Global Brand' comment. Payback time!
