Player of the year ... Chery EDS POTY ... Olamide Shodipo Goal of the Season ... Goal F Khayati v Charlton Supporter of the Year ... Alan Barnes
Olamide Shodipo - Ireland under 19 international. I voted, POTY - Hoilett EDS POTY - Joe Lumley Supporter of the year - Richard Ireland Butler. Alan Barnes is a good shout though.
POTY - Polter has battled against his own limitations and the ignorance of sections of the crowd to become a favourite. Wunderbar. EDS POTY - no idea. But it's a good thing our club philosophy says results don't matter below the first team. Goal of the season - Hoilett v Brentford Fan of the season - who is Alan Barnes? And how would I know?
He was the QPR fan who got run-over and nearly died on the way to the Forest away game. It was only thanks to an off duty firefighter who carried out CPR that he survived. He has since made a good recovery and attended Saturday's fixture away to Cardiff. Firefighter Karl Denham to attend Saturday's match Denham was first on the scene following Alan Barnes' recent accident Lifelong Birmingham fan will be presented with a signed Blues shirt QPR have invited Karl Denham, the off-duty firefighter who was first on the scene following R's supporter Alan Barnes' recent road accident, to Loftus Road for this weekend's clash against Birmingham City. Denham, a lifelong Blues fan, will be a guest at Saturday's Sky Bet Championship fixture, as the club shows their appreciation for the part he played in helping Barnes in his hour of need. To show our appreciation on behalf of the QPR family, Denham - thanks to our visitors this weekend - will be presented with a signed Birmingham City shirt prior to kick-off. On the night in question, Denham left work 20 minutes early to attend a function. Within 400 yards of leaving the fire station, he was two cars behind the incident where Alan had been severely knocked over by a car. Denham got out of the car and was the first person to assess the situation, called the ambulance, and carried out immediate lifesaving actions on Alan, and commenced CPR. The on-duty fire crew were the next in attendance, who then assisted him. Two off-duty ambulance personnel attended shortly afterwards, and they also helped, at which time Alan started to come around. Denham stayed on the scene until Alan was in the care of the ambulance crew. Barnes continues his rehabilitation at Paddington Hospital in London after being transferred from Nottingham earlier this month. The club is in regular dialogue with Alan and his family and continues to send its best wishes to him as he continues his road to recovery. Get well soon, Alan. Nice one Mr Blue Nose Denham and speedy full recovery Mr Barnes. Can't say I'm a fan of this 'best fan' category. Seems to me you'd have to know a lot of other fans to make a judgement. I could nominate almost anyone who has had the misfortune to actually make it to their seat consistently. But more seriously on here I would nominate either Mr Finglas for his endless trips over the Irish Sea and his sheer bloody mindedness in staying away while Ramsey was in charge, or Messrs Sussex and Judo, who never seem to miss a game, no matter how dire the experience.
