So little mention of our part in this last day! Had we not gone 2:1 ahead, it would not have been so exciting. Had we got pulverised (as everone was expecting), there would have been no excitement at all. We played our part and that deserves some recognition at least. Dream on I guess until we do something truly sensational. We live in hope.
We would only have got some if we got a result there. The way they see it is that we were lucky that Bolton only drew forgetting it was the news of that draw which led to us conceding. Had bolton won, we would have been the 1st story for denying city the title. We know what the TF, Hughes, the club and the players have done. I dont give a crap if no marks in the media dont care.
We all know if the players and us hadnt known Bolton had drawn, or lets say they won - we wouldnt have conceded the third. Between the 2nd and 3rd our bench jumped up celebrating - that took our players concentration away, which led to their 3rd.
Losers get no recognition, that's the way it is in sport. Of course we had it in our hands to be the total focus of attention yet we fu*ked it all up.
Plenty of column inches on us and yesterday's game Sadly for the wrong reason - an out-of-control JB Who said all publicity was good publicity??
On a positive note though, our great performance yesterday and at home lately sneaking under the radar can only be a good thing. Now lets go about our business nice and quiet during the summer and hit each and everyone with a right uppercut next season. COYR's!
I agree, pathetic coverage of hoops efforts yesterday, but it was always going to be about who won the league. In previous years when this has been sewn up before the last day the focus has been very much on relegation. Even if we'd upset the party at City yesterday the coverage with all have been about City bottlers and United champions, we wouldn't have got much more coverage ourselves, apart from our idiot captain
I'm afraid the Premiership freak show is all about the top five or six. Everyone else just makes up the numbers. Next year won't be as exciting as this season was for us. Mid-table mediocrity beckons. Is that a good thing?
Cheer up Nines. The next few years are going to be very exciting. Very encouraged by TFs words to Bob watching the City boys celebrate 'I want some of this'. Next season may be mid table, but we are on a long march upwards.
