QPR consider defensive options Date: 23rd August 2012 at 7:05 am Written by FFC News DeskFollow this writerQPR are considering abandoning an attempt to sign Michael Dawson from Tottenham after struggling to agree personal terms, The Daily Mail claim. The England international central defender is surplus to requirements in Andre Villas-Boasâ mind, and as such will be allowed to leave White Hart Lane this summer. The London clubs have agreed a fee for the centre-half, and a basic wage of £60,000 a week has been agreed. Despite this, Dawson is refusing to accept the Loftus Road clubâs bonus structure, and as such Mark Hughesâ men may turn their attention elsewhere. QPR are considering switching their attention to Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross and have also been given the green light by Real Madrid to take Ricardo Carvalho on a season-long loan deal.
I hope this is just Dawson's agent playing hardball on bonuses and it gets sorted soon. Personally I'd much rather have Dawson than Shawcross.
