Looks like we are trying to tie this up before we kick off on Saturday. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...PR-close-Charlie-Austin-Burnley-4million.html QPR are closing on a £4million deal for Burnley striker Charlie Austin. Talks were ongoing on Wednesday night as manager Harry Redknapp looks to add the 24-year-old for the weekend's Championship opener with Sheffield Wednesday. QPR midfielder Jermaine Jenas, 30, meanwhile, is wanted by Hull City and held talks over a prospective move on Wednesday with Hull hopeful of a cut-price deal.
Queens Park Rangers chief executive Phil Beard has revealed they hope to make one or two signings in the next few days QPR have been linked with a move for Burnley's Charlie Austin, while the likes of Loic Remy and Joey Barton could be set for moves away from Loftus Road before the transfer window closes Beard refused to discuss any individuals but admits the club are working hard on the transfer front to bring in some new faces and also to offload some players as they prepare for life in the Championship. "We are trying to make one or two changes, it is important for us for some players to leave and we are working on that as hard as we are in bringing in one or two players in," Beard told Sky Sports News on 92 Live. "Harry [Redknapp] has a great history in bringing the right type of player to his clubs and we need players who are going to give 100 per cent for every second of every game and that is what we are focused on and I hope over the next couple of days one or two players will be announced. "It is the first of August, we have a whole month to go and we will do the right deals for club that is most important thing. "Whether players are leaving or players are coming in we are going to make sure that every player that comes to the club is the type of player that gives 100 per cent." http://www1.skysports.com/football/...eard-expects-to-make-a-couple-of-new-signings
