QPR chiefs to hold transfer meeting

Neil Warnock will hold an important meeting with QPR’s board on Monday to discuss his plans for the January transfer window.

The Rangers manager is expected to sign several players next month, with a striker and a versatile defender his top priorities.

But he continues to play down the possibility of another spending spree – and has suggested he may focus on loan signings.

“On Monday we’ve got a good meeting. We’ve actually got everybody together from all over the globe; Tony [Fernandes], Amit Bhatia and a couple of others,” said Warnock.

Fernandes is keen for Warnock to make major signings.
“It’s what I wanted before Christmas. It’s nice to get them all together rather than via these computer links. It’s difficult on the telephone and stuff, with time gaps and all sorts, so I’m pleased.

“I’m not silly. I’ll go with propositions to them. I think we need to use whatever finance we have in two areas and I’m going to look to bring in some loan players to supplement that.

“The best business is always done in the summer, so I don’t want to pay stupid prices in January.”

Rangers are expected to table a big-money bid for Tottenham and England striker Jermain Defoe and are monitoring Andrew Johnson’s situation at Fulham.

Johnson’s current contract expires next summer and he has been discussing a new deal at Craven Cottage.

A number of defenders have also been identified as possible signings, but players in other positions may arrive on loan.

Warnock added: “If I can get one or two targets I want, then yes we’ll pay money. But other than that, I’m looking at the loan market.”

FFS, NW needs to wake the buck up. All he needs to do is talk to our Cerny, and then he would know that Bassong and Defoe are "Done Deals".

    You still barking?

When Defoe signs I will bump all your comments where you digged me out and I will be requesting an apology for each one.

Listen Cerny, as i said all along, if Defoe signs for us (which he obviously will according to you) i will be that delighted that i will become a life long member of your fan club. Like me, there are many on here who hope you are right, not so we can say how great you are but for the sake of our beloved club. Your predictions during the summer were pure rubbish but i have to say you generated a lot of fun on this board. Done deal means done deal, stop changing your words with every different thread. A loan deal by the way does not fit in the bracket of done deal.

I think there are 4 key places we need to fill. A top Keeper where I don't see that Kenny is good enough for the PL on his form this season, and Cerny who I reckon looks better than Kenny now, probably has max one season left in him. One top quality CB, Samba would be great, ideally 2! A creative attacking midfield player, assuming we aren't keeping a rejuvinated Adel. A striker, Defoe would do vey nicely!

An additional CB and wing back as cover, also look necessary to me. Cover for Traore is needed quickly if as I believe he is off to the Africa Nations Cup in January.

I would wish they keep Adel even if it's just to make him right in the head
I wager Adel to rip the ACN up and then let's see people ignore him
I see morocco doing well and AT has his eyes on this now IMO
I also believe he would still want to play for QPR if others can change their views ... I think with a happy ship we will do every well this year

How many loans can we have? Sure it's not as many as we could in the champs.

You need wise up right now Oddball. The guy is a punk who doesn't know how good he's got it.

Ship him out on a free if we have to. Get him out the Club, he's poisonous.

I'm beginning to feel that way about Barton at the moment. I hope he can prove me wrong, though.

I've heard Barton's sitting in on it, so no doubt he's supplying the cigars.

I didn't think the Oracle gave out random opinions. I thought the Wise One only appeared to deserving worshipers every now and then to give them snippets of the future?

    Branching out are we??
