QPR braced for £20million Taarabt offer Published 22:00 15/11/11 By John Cross Mega-rich Paris Saint Germain are ready to break the bank and go towards the £20million mark for QPR playmaker Adel Taarabt. The big-spending French side hope the stunning offer for the Moroccan international will be hard for Rangers to resist. PSG had a deal worth £15m turned down in the summer, but are willing to make an improved offer of £14m up front plus a further £6m in add-ons. QPR chairman Tony Fernandes and boss Neil Warnock have both said publicly they want to keep mercurial talent Taarabt but that sort of money may test their resolve - even in mid-season. Italy's Napoli are also watching developments, but cannot match the spending power of PSG, whose wealthy Middle Eastern owners are also hoping to bring in David Beckham as they try to make the club into a European superpower. Taarabt, 22, who has been away on international duty, said: âI am prepared for any event in January but the decision depends on QPR.â http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/tra...s-Saint-Germain-in-January-article830626.html
I'm desperate for Adel to prove himself in the Prem for us, but add this to Warnock's 15mil war chest, I'm guessing we'd get 10mil after Spirs have their share, and I'd be biting off Leonardo's hand for the money..... Be honest, who thought 6 months ago that we could be heading into ANY transfer window with 25mil to spend....?
blimey 3... 50 million... maybe we should hang out for more... might get 100million... still,,be very sad to see him go.. adel who
If true then he has to go. Sad to see the talent go but not the attitude. Good luck to the lad but i feel this money spent wisely could give us a platform to build on.
this is getting out of hand there be a different bid tomorrow in the papers, anything above 10mill i would take, as much as i like him i just can't see him producing his talent in prem. saw glimses in two games but thats not enough bye.
Why would they bid £20m when could almost certainly get him for a lot less - reckon we'd let him go for £12-15m even with Spuds getting a chunk.
This reminds me of the Irish property boom, papers talking everything up; the real price we're gonna get is after the crash
I guess we need to bear in mind the pay back clause to Spurs when evaluating the true value of any such deal to QPR. Even so what kind of club would offer £20m for a player out of contract in 6 months? And let's face it, Flav and Bernie would have bitten their hands off if the earlier '£15m' offer was actually made so I for one assume that was not the case. So, why are they back now with seemingly an even bigger amount? Sounds like rubbish to me.
Because Adel is magic and if he develops his potential, gets fit and sorts himself out they could sell him for twice that in a year or three. But there's a lot of ifs, so the article probably is rubbish, and he'll stay with us, which is just fine with me.
I would be very sad to see Adel leave, but if these stories are true then the club would be foolish to turn down that sort of money.
Difference is, that last season we were promoted due, in no smal part, to his contribution. By no means the only thing, but it was a significant factor. This season, I really can't see that having adel or not having adel will impact our survival or not. Certainly his form and attitude have been questionable so far, but I see players like Mackie, Faurlin, Kenny, Ferdinand, Traore, Barton, SWP as being far more significant to us than Adel this term.
