Hill could return to Rangers squad as Warnock looks to bolster his defence

Neil Warnock will today weigh up whether to recall Clint Hill from his loan with Nottingham Forest ahead of QPR’s match against Chelsea this weekend.

Left-back Hill was shipped out to the Championship side in September on a 93-day switch, but with QPR hit by defensive injuries in his absence, he could be in line for an early return.

Warnock confirmed: “We’ll discuss it today but it’s certainly a possibility – I’d have probably played him the other day against Blackburn if I’m honest.

“The problem is we had to have him playing matches, and we couldn’t call him back if we didn’t feel we could use him.”

Centre-back Danny Gabbidon is still recovering from a knee injury and is once again rated as a doubt for the match on Sunday, instead targeting the game at Tottenham on October 30.

But Warnock will be without the injured Matthew Connolly for at least another two weeks, with the versatile defender expected to be available for the game against Manchester City on November 5.

Why did Clint go to Forest ?
NW said he was the best all last season and can cover across the back four.... My money is on Barton

DT, I think we've got the point you don't like Barton. You are not alone in that but could you please resist infecting every thread with your obsession? It's becoming tedious.

I would like to see Hill come in and partner Ferdinand. Hall just simply isn't good enough at this level. Unfortunately this brings up the same question we've had to ask a few times this season. Why did we get rid of Gorkss!? Crazy.

I hope NW can find room for Mackie in the side too, he never stops running and is our only attacking option that can track back and put a good tackle in.

I'd have him back in a shot if I'm honest. Even with him back, at this level we're still bound to get a few drubbings along the way, but I'd tell him to just go out and enjoy it.

Yes, bring Clint back - options as full or centre back, will help cover off injuries in the squad and he always gives 100% effort - good header of the ball too.

While I would welcome Hill back with open arms, let's not load the lad with unreasonable expectations. This is the man who was made to look silly by Petrov on the first day of the season and ended up getting sent off for a girls attempt at a headbutt. At this level I prefer him at CB to FB, where he hasn't got the pace or guile, especially if the alternative at CB is Onesize.

Oh come on, don't be silly.

I think I understand why he was sent on loan but the current circumstances are exactly why we should recall him now.

If Barton is telling NW which team to pick, we really are up there without a paddle. Likelihood is next to none, imo

If i was Barton......i would get off twitter and telling others how to do their job and concentrate on doing my own and justifying the £60k a week wage
