QPR boss not chasing Liverpoolâs Bellamy Jul 16, 2012 0 comments 0 Hughes has brought Bellamy to two clubs he has previously managed. Mark Hughes is not looking to bring Welsh forward Craig Bellamy to Queenâs Park Rangers and insists that rumours linking Bellamy with a move to Loftus Road are purely speculative. Bellamy and Hughes have worked together on numerous occasions in the past. Hughes was Bellamyâs boss between 1999 and 2004, as he served as Wales manager, and brought Bellamy to Blackburn Rovers in 2005 and Manchester City in 2009. After returning to Liverpool last summer, Bellamy only made 12 league starts for the Anfield club last season and has been linked with moves to Cardiff City and QPR this summer but Hughes is not planning on signing Bellamy once more. He told Sky Sports: "There has been a lot of speculation over Craig. Yes I know him very well. But at the moment it is all speculation." QPR have already brought in Ryan Nelsen, Andy Johnson and Robert Green, as well as sensationally signing Park Ji-Sung from Manchester United. Hughes hopes to see an improvement in the team after narrowly avoiding relegation last season. "Now I have more time to prepare the side and get the quality players that were lacking before. "I can say that QPR has a great future and obviously we will do better than last season. We are confident that we won't be struggling." South Korean star Park has also revealed that he turned down a lucrative move to Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande in order to continue playing in England. He said: "They offered more money than QPR but for me Europe is still the best place to play so I wanted that challenge."
I'm glad, we don't want another "big ego" at the club, that could potentially cause havoc... Or do a "Barton"...

Rangers appear to be in a two-way fight with the Bluebirds if Bellamy decides he wants to leave Liverpool this summer. New Anfield chief Brendan Rodgers is in no rush to let the 33-year-old go, but he has admitted the Wales striker could move on if there was a "unique and personal" reason. Cardiff boss Malky Mackay has remained tight-lipped on the subject, although he is extremely keen to bring his former Norwich team-mate back to his home-town club. Hughes, who worked with Bellamy with Wales and Manchester City, is a big admirer of Bellamy, but has cooled talk of an imminent move for the player. "There has been a lot of speculation over Craig. Yes I know him very well. But at the moment it is all speculation," said Hughes. Bellamy is currently training with the Team GB Olympic squad, and his future may not be sorted out until after that competition. Meanwhile, Hughes has vowed Rangers will do better than last season after escaping relegation on the final day of the season. "Now I have more time to prepare the side and get the quality players that were lacking before," added Hughes. "I can say that QPR has a great future and obviously we will do better than last season.
