QPR boss Mark Hughes defends decision ahead of Swansea crunch game by Phil Blanche, Western MailApr 10 FORMER Wales boss Mark has defended his decision to rest star men Bobby Zamora and Joey Barton ahead of Swansea Cityâs visit to west London tomorrow. Both players sat out Queens Park Rangersâ 2-0 defeat at Manchester United on Sunday, striker Zamora following the after-effects of a virus while midfielder Barton was one booking away from picking up a two-match suspension. With Rangers now facing matches against Swansea and West Brom that, on paper, offer a couple of the best opportunities they will have of picking up wins to take them clear of relegation trouble, Hughes felt there was little to be gained from pressing them into service against the Premier League leaders. And given that midfielder Shaun Derry was sent off at Old Trafford and will need to be successful in his appeal to feature against Swansea, Bartonâs availability is even more crucial. âBobby was ill all week and was struggling with the effects of a virus a couple of days ago,â said Hughes. âI made the decision to ensure he was 100% for Wednesday rather than risk him by giving him an hour against United at 70%, which might have compromised him. âWe couldnât take the risk with losing Joey for two key games.â Meanwhile, Hughes has welcomed midfielder Alejandro Faurlin back to the club as he continues his rehabilitation from the cruciate knee injury he suffered in January. Then why are Qpr going on about the Young decision when they conceded the points before the match? Even their fans did not bother going
we have enough to get something at qpr with or without zamora and barton in their side, so sparky is trying to dupe qpr fans on his mistake of leaving them out last game..I want us to go for the jugular at qpr and send them deeper into relegation as we want the points to climb the table for more cash that goes with it, after the game then of course i wish qpr all the luck in staying up...
Going for the jugular Dai, would mean going past the halfway line a tad more. But what about our passing back to Vorm, if we don`t pass back to him he`ll have nothing to do ! Apart from possibly picking the ball out of the net, hopefully not.
that why i want to see some action by us as this back passing and making 900 passes without scoring must stop.... i dont mind losing if i can turn around and say we gave it our best shot, but i cant say that these past few games as its nothing more than exibition passing by us and 3 points for the opposition.....
This game has all the signs of a draw in the making, but I'm going for a 1-0 win to Swansea! Up the Jacks............. please log in to view this image
Cant see further than a QPR win im afraid to say. This is a game that they have been targeting and i think we will be under real pressure from the word go, the only way i see us getting something is if we change our style of play and set up more defensive, its these types of games where Kemy would be the guy to play but unlucky for us he is injured. I also think that the referee will have a big influence, if he allows them to kick us and get away with it then it will be extra difficult to play our game, QPR have a great looking team on paper and if they get it right then it could be a long night. Impossible to predict the swans this season though and i live in hope that they suprise me again !!
This is a game where I would like to see us get physical for once, stuff the fair play league, time to niggle the opposition! Know where your coming from Norway, let's hope three defeats, gives us some backbone and fight............. please log in to view this image
Sparky has decided no matter what team he fields against Man u QPR will lose and he clearly see's fully fit players have a better chance against us.(fair enough) so lets prove him wrong then
