QPR boss Harry Redknapp set for shock West Ham return HARRY REDKNAPP has emerged as a shock contender to replace Sam Allardyce as West Ham manager. By Adrian Kajumba & Paul Brown/Published 7th January 2014 The Hammersâ joint-chairmen, David Gold and David Sullivan, are backing Allardyce and gave their boss a vote of confidence yesterday. But they also know angry fans are cranking up the pressure â and they may be forced to act if Allardyce canât turn things around soon. QPR boss Redknapp is the shock name in the frame to succeed him if he is sacked. âWe must stay united and come through togetherâ West Ham statement The odds on the 66-year-old making a West Ham comeback have tumbled in recent weeks, with Redknapp now the clear favourite. Former Upton Park favourite, current Besiktas boss Slaven Bilic, and ex-Cardiff chief Malky Mackay have also been mooted. Redknapp left West Ham in May 2001 after seven years in charge. But Gold and Sullivan have backed Big Sam, despite the 5-0 FA Cup thrashing at Nottingham Forest. They told fans: âWe must stay united and come through together. âSam has been handed a near impossible task of coming through three crucial games in six days with only 14 fit and available senior players.â
QPR boss Harry Redknapp favourite to succeed Big Sam at West Ham [Star & Express] Monday, January 6th, 2014 Feeds: Harry Redknapp Sam Allardyce West Ham 1 0Comments QPR boss Harry Redknapp favourite to succeed Big Sam at West Ham [Star & Express]Sam Allardyce is under ever-increasing pressure at West Ham following their embarrassing 5-0 FA Cup defeat at the hands of Champions side Nottingham Forest. The poor display echoed their form in the Premier League, with the East London club currently sitting 19th. Tomorrow’s Daily Express and Daily Star both claim Harry Redknapp will be the man to succeed Big Sam. Currently managing QPR, Redknapp managed West Ham for seven years between 1994-2001. Will Big Sam be next in the sack race?
Still don't get why HR would go back to West Ham - two teams relegated in successive years would look crap on anyone's CV.
Let me put everyone minds at ease ...................... Fact - 1 Our owners have money, West Ham owners have not. Fact - 2 We are on the way up, Hammers are going backwards. Harry's going no where.
http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...lined-up-to-replace-Sam-Allardyce-at-West-Ham Harry Redknapp lined up to replace Sam Allardyce at West Ham HARRY REDKNAPP has emerged as the hot favourite to succeed under-fire Sam Allardyce at West Ham. Upton Park legend Redknapp, below, who played for the club and managed them for seven years up to 2001, was last night installed as the bookies’ favourite to return, with Allardyce effectively given a few weeks to save his job. Allardyce has been publicly backed by Hammers owners David Sullivan and David Gold and given the go-ahead to strengthen his squad. Wolves defender Roger Johnson has signed on loan – and will go straight into the line-up for tomorrow’s Capital One Cup semi-final first leg at Manchester City – with Ivory Coast striker Lacina Traore due to complete a similar deal from Monaco. The Daily Express understands that Redknapp will be the chief contender if Allardyce fails to survive. The 66-year-old is becoming disillusioned with QPR and would welcome a return to east London. Fact 2 Aussie is obviously an opinion. If you divide our season into 3 blocks of 8 matches, we gained 20 points from the first block, 15 from the second and only 11 from the third. If that trend continues we will be lucky to make the playoffs. Redknapp does support West Ham doesn't he?
The biggest worry for me is the possibility that we could get Sam in place of Harry!! Also, if Harry did go, who could we get in right now?
The whole story is based on the phrase "was last night installed as the bookies’ favourite". So a few punters back the odds down - probably because someone heard a whisper from the cousin of their milkman, who lives nextdoor to the aunt of a bloke who once painted the urinals at Upton Park - and the journos seize on it, add a load of nothing, then the gullible (like the prat Maurice in the Bet Victor ads) put even more money on. The journos get a "story" out of nothing and the bookies make a fortune.
I hope he goes, as I feel that another 5/6 years in the championship or even lower leagues with several managerial changes and different owners is the only way I will feel happy and that we will finally make progress. I would also like him to pillage our squad and take all the old players out (those who are at least 25+) so we can replace our current crop of players with young hungry tykes from boys detention centres all being 14,15 or 16 so in 5/6 years they will be the perfect age to take the Premiership by storm!!
"I don't know where they get their stupid odds from. I wouldn't take 33/1! "They've got a good manager in Sam, so I don't see that happening. I'm very happy managing QPR and lucky to be at such a good club." http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/redknapp-rules-out-west-ham-6474079?
If there is any truth in the story, this is a test of the faith invested in him by TF and those of you who remain convinced that he is the right man for the job. It is also his chance to prove to us doubters that he is a man of his word.
translates - tony has given me a few million to spend, the irons don't have two pennies to rub together. the only thing that concerns me is that, even in a perilous position, would you pass up the job to be ranger's manager?
