QPR boss Harry Redknapp hails Everton star Ross Barkley but SLAMS Adel Taarabt again QPR boss Harry Redknapp has bigged up Evertonâs young star Ross Barkley as a potential great â but shot down his own midfield prospect Adel Taarabt. By Tony Stenson / Published 13th December 2014 Struggling Rangers are at Goodison Park tomorrow night hoping to cash in on their win over Burnley last week. And Redknapp knows his side will need to be at their best to combat the impressive Barkley, 21. He said: âHeâs fantastic, top class and, for me, one the most exciting players in the Premier League. âHe has everything â great ability, good physique, strong, runs with the ball. He is a top young player. âDavid Moyes did a great job there with him and Roberto Martinez is doing the same.â Everton were comfortable 4-0 winners when the two sides met at Goodison in the FA Cup Third Round last January and Redknapp said: âIt is always a difficult place togobutweâvegottofinda way of going there and start picking up some points. âYou canât keep relying on your home form because some of the fixtures in the second half of the season are very difficult at home.â âHeâs fantastic, top class and, for me, one the most exciting players in the Premier League. He has everything â great ability, good physique, strong, runs with the ball. He is a top young playerâ The Toffees will undoubtedly field a stronger line-up than the young side which took to the field against Krasnodar in their 1-0 Europa League defeat on Thursday night, when four teenagers made their debut. One player who will definitely not feature in the QPR side â or squad â is Taarabt, 25. The midfielder is a player Redknapp admires but the Râs boss admits to being totally frustrated with the Moroccan. He said: âOnly he can get himself fit and ready to play. You can take a horse to water â but how far away is the water? âI want Adel to get fit and start playing football. We need him fit and playing. Iâve told him that if he is fit, heâs back in he squad. âHe has had injuries pretty much since the start of the year â but donât ask me how you get injuries when you donât train and you donât play.â Redknapp hopes to add several new faces to his squad during the January transfer window but he knows it will not be easy to compete in the market, with the club relying on home gates of just 17,000. He said: âWeâre not talking about spending massive amounts of money. Maybe we can get a couple of loans in. âYouâre only allowed 25 players whatever you do, so if a couple come in we will have to let a couple out. âThe Premier League is not a level playing field and it never will be. âThere are probably seven teams up there at the top, then everybody else has to get on with it.âWhen some clubs can spend £40million and pay incredible wages thatâs the way it is. We just have to get on with it. âItâs not that on any given day you canât beat those teams â you can. âWe nearly beat Manchester City and were better than Liverpool on the day. âThat is what makes it such a good league.â
I think we should call his bluff and play Adel Taarabt upfront vs Everton. It's live on Sky, so it would tap into the fellow's Machiavellian character allowing him to showcase his talents.
Game, set & match ........ thank you ball boys, thank you ball girls........... or is that, girls with balls, no, maybe boys with no balls .......... whatever!
"You canât keep relying on your home form because some of the fixtures in the second half of the season are very difficult at home.â Oh dear. We'll be setting up not to lose these 'difficult' games, which are also 'not easy', then. Personally I'd give Adel a free so he can go and join Colin at Palace. Would be better if he went abroad though, then we could forget about him. Let's talk up the opposition a bit before we play them, softens the blow of losing, I suppose. **** it, broke my rule of not reading or watching anything from Redknapp. Apologies. I will go away and regain my tranquility.
oh FFS...why do we carry on with this clown Send him somewhere else and lets get on with the TEAM we have. Wegot promoted and are 17tgh without him. send him n loan to Wycombe and he'll be a star again. F-it i may take up kickboxing again and go fight 12 yr olds......
Doesn't appear to be any managers out there looking for a clockwork dwarf or a Shisa-smoking Tellytubby...
I still don't think we should give up on Adel Taarabt. There's the rest of the season to come; and as Harry Redknapp opines - we need our Moroccan Magician fit and playing.
We've been saying that for so long the record is stuck ... and everybody else has moved on to CDs and MP3s.

I was one of the guy's biggest admirers but it has taken a long time for it to sink in with me that he is an absolute disgrace. Now that he is on strike is the final straw for me. The sooner he goes the better so we can all finally move on.
Fair play Kerry. Now all we need is for Ozzie, Stroller and Damage to finally open their eyes to the reality of this guy.
